AIBU?

AIBU to be fed up of knickers that crawl up yer arse within 5 minutes?!?

Maybe it's my (40-something) age and the fact that I've got a bit fatter (was size 10-12 now 12-14), but I've had enough of flimsy pants! Walking around in public pulling your underwear out of your backside is not a good look. Weirdly, the best ones I found were cartoon Wonderwoman ones from Debenhams! They had really sturdy hems that actually stayed in place. But the last time I bought some they'd changed the fabric and now they've gone all stretchy and useless! Waaah! I don't want granny pants (or hi leg); boy shorts are my favourite style. They definitely have to be cotton though. Anyone got any recommendations? I can't be the only one with this problem can I? Hmm

Definitely m and s knickers are best, I tend to get the bikini ones I think and they stay in place, don't fray and wash perfectly. Anything else is a waste of money imo.

I am intrigued by those Americam Apparel ones girlwhowearsglasses- have you tried them out? I'm looking at the gathered bit and to me it looks like they're already half way to disappearing up there! Really nice colours though. I'm a fussy bugger, like my knickers to be colourful on top of everything else!

Another one for m & s high leg five packs. I too have the kind of bum that knickers like to crawl into Shock.

I go commando as much as I can.

I hate wearing pants!

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if I would prefer complaining about that or not....
I have to be very careful about the knickers I buy as I've got no arse to speak of, so they tend to shimmy their way down. Which can be less than helpful if you have to work standing up in a public-facing role where people can see all of you.

No advice but I don't think it's an age thing. My 3 year old and 6 year old are both known to yell "help, my bum has eaten my pants!" from time to time.

I think the width of the gusset is vitally important, nowt worse that knickers that disappear up more than your arse.

Another fan of the M&S hi-legs. I have a nice bum (full, curvy and pert unlike my boobs which are giving into gravity) but boy shorts are disastrously creepy. Ditto those seamless 'microfibre' types.

M&S cotton hi-legs and the giant scary granny pants. Those babies are going nowhere!

M&S bikinis or midis if you like bigger pants. Wash well, don't ride up or down. Not too fugly. cotton gusset. Shorts and Brazilians ride up my crack something awful. Haven't worn a thong in years.

I wear M&S midis too! Ye gods, it's like an M&S five-pack club in here!

You cant beat a Sloggi in my humble opinion. They come in all styles and sizes. Wash well and hold shape. I never get a wedgie!

I wear M&S high waist/high leg 5 pack - have done since I bought some for post birth and can't bring myself to go back to low risers. Keeps everything nice and tucked in. Love M&S I do.

^^ This. I've noticed that gussets have got meaner and skimpier in the last 10 years.

M&S Brazilian. Best pants ever.

I have currently replaced all of my knickers with a brilliant design from Primark. They sell them on the hangers in packs of three.

Elastic on the knicker legs is what you are looking for.

Just enough to keep everything in its place. Don't fall for seamless boyshorts or any of that guff, they all end up folded 'tween your bum cheeks.

I'm a size 8/10 and this is the only way my bum can keep its sanity,
I just cannot be doing with young people's pants any more.

Can I chip in with another gripe about pants... Why is it so hard to find a good pair of cotton, non synthetic knickers that are actually attractive and not basic/granny pants?

All the sexy, pretty, lace trimmed undies seem to be made from the synthetic stuff which is we are told is unhygienic and causes thrush... Unless someone can point me in the direction of some attractive cotton ones?!

Seriously OP, I'm not really a Primark fan, but I have been complaining about researching this for years. Get yourself down there.

A boyfriend once bought me some pants that didn't ride up and after a while I realised it was because they had shirring elastic on the legs.
A revelation I tells ya.
And now I've found them cheaply and in plentiful supply. Grin

Get to hell with your brazilian knickers you weird posters. The OP needs bum coverage, not exposure. Pah!

I bought some granny pants in late pregnancy and two years later I haven't looked back.

Plain black ones are the least hideous imo

Another vote for m and s. I like the boy shorts. Always size up.

But I am currently in my post c section granny pants more than 3 months after my section. Something I promised myself would not happen but they are sooooo comfy.

Having checked out the American Apparel website (thanks girlwhowearsglasses) I'm rather taken with their Unisex Baby Rib Brief. They're cotton. They have great colours. They look sturdy. They're bloody expensive but I've found them on ebay for half price! Grin Think I'll get one pair and see how it goes. I know we have a massive M&S 5 pack fan club in here, and I used to buy nothing but M&S pants myself, but they don't seem to work for me anymore...

Right ok, elasticated legs. Haven't got a Primark near us so has anyone found these anywhere else?

Crevice creep is bloody annoying.

I am another fan of M&S multipacks. Alas I am bigger than I was and probably need to go up a size :(

Anyone tried wearing men's pants? I seem to remember borrowing bfs one dirty stop out morning about a hundred years ago and finding them very comfy.

Nowadays I wear a size too big of full briefs.
