to get rid of my cats?

I mean, what's the point of them?

They sprawl out on my sofa, eat my wotsits and get the hump when I want to sleep in my own bed. Then the mouse that's currently squatting in the living room takes a stroll across the carpet, moons at the pair of them and then wanders off without them even batting an eyelid. Bloody freeloaders.

YABU, you're lucky they can't get rid of you. Grin

Your cats ?

You are their human.

The cats need to do a better job of training you, you're clearly getting ideas above your station.

StrangeGlue · 20/10/2014 12:35

Think you've totally misunderstood the dynamic here. You live in their house and your only contribution is having thumbs so you can open the tins/packets. You're really fairly lucky they tolerate you and your entitled attitude.

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 20/10/2014 12:36

YABU. They have Chosen You. Which means that's that now. Nothing you can do.

You could try to contain them with the cat circle trick

it works.

BaffledSomeMore · 20/10/2014 12:39

Perhaps they're depressed and that's why they can't chase mice. Have you no compassion? Perhaps some CBT would help them. Use those thumbs to make a vet appt.
:)

Haven't you watched Downton?

You're not supposed to slag off your employers

One of mine (who has huge ishooos) is currently mad at us because of the change in the weather. She has spent much of the summer in the hedge opposite the house, but is now camping in front of the tumble dryer yelling at me to keep it on as the rain/wind/cold is all directly my fault. She would really like to be a feral cat with a heater and supply of whichever food it is she currently wants dispensed by robot.

MrsCurrent · 20/10/2014 12:55

You need to watch what you're saying lady or you're gonna find that mouse's head in your bed.

From mrsc's cats. We made the stupid human type this with those ridiculous digits.

LiverpoolLou · 20/10/2014 12:55

It never used to be like this. The sad passing of the terrier beast earlier this year appears to have left a power vacuum. The cats hate each other more than they hate me and the only time I see them animated is when they're fighting over custody of the same square inch of carpet or windowsill. They used to be united against the common enemy.
