To think it's shocking that 4 star hotels don't have freeview channels

OK , shocking is maybe ott Smile but you'd think they could stretch to freeview?

Stuck in a hotel room away from home and there's nothing worth watching.

Does it have free wifi? That's the dealbreaker for me.

Gaia81 · 19/10/2014 17:40

Free WiFi but not fast.

One! biscuit ( I can't eat biscuits but they didn't know that!)

When I'm lucky enough to be in a hotel room by myself I spend most of the evening having a long bath which I top up frequently, I always take a good book and some treats to snack on. If work are paying I order in room service (it's the only time I think it's acceptable to pay £14.95 for a club sandwich with a side order of crisps)

YonicScrewdriver · 19/10/2014 17:44

The hotel doesn't get them free, though!

Gaia81 · 19/10/2014 17:52

I'm mumsnetting from the bath Grin

The hotel doesn't get electricity free either yonic, I still expect them to provide it.

Having never been in anything other than a Travelodge/ premier inn in this country until very recently the world of 4 star hotels has been a big disappointment. And despite the fact I'm not picking up the bill I can't help feeling ripped off!

I want Classic FM or Radio 3, and I want Radio 4. 3 and 4 are on Freeview.

PuppyMonkey · 19/10/2014 18:58

I thought since the digital switchover all TV sets would have Freeview. Confused

StrangeGlue · 19/10/2014 19:00

Yanbu! Most b&bs and all premier inn etc have freeview. I'd be disappointed too.

Gileswithachainsaw · 19/10/2014 19:01

Well in all fairness hotels aren't for watching TV are they Wink

threepiecesuite · 19/10/2014 19:06

So what does it have? I thought the analogue signal had been switched off.

PuppyMonkey · 19/10/2014 19:07

Have just checked this as am very sad Grin and yes all TV in the UK is now digital so if you're seeing any channels at all, it must have a digital box with Freeview or inbuilt Freeview. Probably just needs installing again.

HTH

5 standard channels, sky news and sky sports, and a channel that says it's sky 1 but actually displaying BBC 1
