AIBU?

My bloody neighbour!

My neighbour is one if those who constantly buy new gadgets.

A couple of weeks ago he came home with a little helicopter thing with a camera on it.

He's constantly flying it over our gardens and filming us! He casually mentioned things that he has seen in my and my neighbours gardens.

I feel like taking it off him and smashing it. I love the privacy of my garden and I feel like he's being a selfish git.

Myself and my neighbours have told him to stop flying over our properties but he insists he's allowed as we down own the airspace Hmm

Aibu to stick it up his arse?

Oh sorry - I did read your post earlier, I must have only read half of it though! [baffled]

He really must be driving the poor woman batshit. He clearly needs a hobby, a non pervy one!! Or to move to a nice retirement village - far far away Grin

Actually, you could buy him a note book, a pencil and a subscription to Trainspotters Weekly :) Tis nearly Christmas after all.

It's not really what he's doing that would bother me, but his reaction once asked to stop it.

I recall a thread on the garden law forum about this same issue. I can't remember how it was resolved, but might be worth a search.

If you have kids and he is filming them then I think that would be an issue as you haven't given permission and they are on private property (as opposed to in the street). He sounds like a major PITA. I think I would start keepin chickens (and a cockerel) or something equally irritating

Use weedkiller to write 'Just take Up Golf For God's Sake' on his lawn.

Buy your own chopper from eBay and take his out when it flies over ala Robot Wars. Claim it's your new hobby.

This! This!

Can you plant flowers to spell out PISS OFF or use white stones or something?

Manoeuvre him into local politics of some description. (To 'help the neighbourhood with all your experience'.) Your local council probably deserve that degree of ......dedication?..... and it would certainly provide him with a focus. Lots of lovely meetings to keep him out of the house for long periods as well!

Put his bins back on the pavement and park in the space. When he complains, tell him you're 'allowed'. Wanker

He's pissing around with his bins again. What a dickhead.

Actually if he is filming and you have expressly said not to I think you have a case

We haven't got a pavement. We have large front gardens that lead straight onto the road.

Park on his front garden then

The drone must not be flown near houses - the link posted above is very clear. This applies whether or not it has a camera.

It is a different issue to a CCTV camera mounted on your own property for the purposes of security.

Report it to the police, and if they are not familiar with the CAA regulation refer them to it.

Well if it isn't bin day I'd shove em back on his garden. They shouldn't be in the road

Report
InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 16/10/2014 21:13

Ooh! I know! Run into the bins in the dark then tell him you're suing him for leaving an unlit object in the road

Is the drone noisy?

I would visit him when his wife is there and tell him you feel that it's intrusive and that you were worried he had filmed you through the window when you were changing. Make sure his wife hears.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 16/10/2014 21:23

It's not all that noisy to be honest. I thought it was a poorly bird at first because it wasn't flying very well Grin
