Who is being unreasonable in the battle of the bush?

Battleofthebush · 14/10/2014 19:25

I've changed names for obvious reasons.

Basically because I'm lazy and hate itchy stubble I leave my lady garden as nature intended.

Dp makes no bones about the fact he hates it. He's always making little jokes and digs. He says he doesn't want it all gone just wants me to prune it a bit.

I've done it once since we've been together and the itching drove me insane.

Who's being unreasonable?

Heksingborg?! Bloody iPad Grin

LosingAllTheLego · 14/10/2014 22:20

You're not wrong to want it how you want it. He's not wrong to have a preference.

Very helpful aren't I!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/10/2014 22:33

Removing pubic hair has nothing to do with porn.

Hmm

Yeah whatever.

The fact that virtually no one did it in the days when porno mags were full of women au natural is, of course, purely coincidental.

HavanaSlife · 14/10/2014 22:44

I remember porn when hair was au natural, I still preferred mine very very short

Tinkly It's more likely the case that porn stars follow the same trends as general folk, so their lady gardens change with the times too, rather than act as trendsetters.
I know plenty of people who groom, but are not interested in, nor ever view porn. Far less are any of us interested in emulating it or resembling porn stars. The thought disgusts me, actually.

specialsubject · 15/10/2014 11:22

so is he so bothered by this that he won't have sex? I doubt that.

as long it is washed daily, you've nothing else to do.

PeachyParisian · 15/10/2014 11:49

I suspect this might be quite a generational thing, I don't know anyone who doesn't 'garden'. It's fairly standard amongst the men I know/knew too!

But nobody should be telling what you should and shouldn't be doing with it as it is a bloody faff and your decision OP

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 15/10/2014 12:48

I don't tend my lady garden even though DH would like me to. I've told him I'll wax of I can wax his scrotum first. It's not been mentioned since.

And yes, of course the increased trend for bare bits are linked to porn. It's all down it being clearer when filmed if there's no hair there. That's enough to put me off alone.

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 15/10/2014 12:51

How old are you Peachy I am 42 and I know some of my friends do....but more don't. I might trim if I'm going to the pool but shaving is awful. Fizzy the word pussy when used as a euphemism for vagina/vulva is WAY older than porn as we know it today.

SkaterGrrrrl · 15/10/2014 12:52

He is being completely unreasonable.

Your body, your choice.

AlleyCat11 · 15/10/2014 13:00

Shaved males. No ta... With them, I paid more attention to mine. No more than a short back & sides. As for waxing, forget it... None of them ever mentioned a preference.
I keep things totally organic now. So does my guy, he's a hairy gorilla anyway. Have you asked your man why? Is it to match him?

Quenelle · 15/10/2014 13:16

What is '70s' about au naturel ladyparts?

fizzymittens · 15/10/2014 13:18

Officer interestingly enough you have made no comment on all of the other people who have said what they do with theirs and if someone posts about this then surely they can expect replies??

If you care so little, why are you even posting on this thread?

Aridane · 15/10/2014 15:08

Sorry to go a bit against the thread - if all he's looking for is a gentle trim (rather than depilation), I don't think he is BU - all part of give and take. However, if he's looking for shaving / waxing, he is BU.

If my partner had designer stubble - say - which irritated me - I would ask him to shave it off or grow it out, and hope that wouldn't be seen as unreasonable.

ithoughtofitfirst · 15/10/2014 15:13

quenelle i always associate the 70s with big bushes. Based on nothing.

PiperRose · 15/10/2014 15:26

I normally take care of my bikini line, and that's about it. My most recent ex nicely asked me to trim it because he would go down on me A LOT and often emerged with a hair or two between his teeth. For the sake of the fabulous oral I obliged, but let him do it for me. He liked doing it and I couldn't be arsed.

As for men I've slept with shavers and non-shavers, I don't have a preference.

In a previous life I used to be a dancer and then my body was practically hair free, because the costumes were tiny. Absolutely nothing to do with porn.

dreamerdoer · 15/10/2014 16:22

oh, you should absolutely trim...

...your dp from your life that is. Making 'little jokes and digs' about a partners body is not on.

Some people trim, some don't (and some are a lot hairier than others to start with), its all fine. If he had respectfully mentioned a preference that would be one thing, but trying to humiliate you into it after you've said no? He sounds horrible.

NanFucker · 15/10/2014 16:54

Gimli Grin very good

Sorry van Heksingborg my info must have been duff, damn Facebook Grin

What did you say that got deleted?

NanFucker · 15/10/2014 16:55

Ouch I got slapped wrist Sad

Tapewormuprisings · 15/10/2014 17:08

Completely, 100% your choice. Saying this as a woman with a dp that hates her hairy pits!

However, I trim my lady bits to about half a cm with clippers (no shaving), simply because I rather like dp to go down there once in a while, and I wouldn't want to lick a cat either!

It looks neat, isn't itchy, everyone wins!
