Who is being unreasonable in the battle of the bush?

Battleofthebush · 14/10/2014 19:25

I've changed names for obvious reasons.

Basically because I'm lazy and hate itchy stubble I leave my lady garden as nature intended.

Dp makes no bones about the fact he hates it. He's always making little jokes and digs. He says he doesn't want it all gone just wants me to prune it a bit.

I've done it once since we've been together and the itching drove me insane.

Who's being unreasonable?

Isn't fanjeaux plural? If so OP, I'm impressed.
Oh, by the way, how ever many you have, your choice. Tell him to FO.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 14/10/2014 21:05

And if he hates it so much, he won't miss it then.

StillSquirrelling · 14/10/2014 21:07

I opted for laser hair removal (not quite all of it, but quite a bit) as I don't like the 70s bush look (and mine was slowly heading that way after each pregnancy!). DH has never asked me to shave/wax but he does prefer the smooth finish that you get from laser hair removal to the stubbly rash from shaving! I like it because it's permanent!

DH has never shaved (to my knowledge) but he's really quite hairy (chest, stomach, back etc). I actually quite like the smooth torso look on a man (not legs and pits though) but would never consider asking DH to do that. It's his body!

I second the trimmer as a comfy, non-itchy way to keep things neat, sensitive and clean-feeling. Only IF you want to, mind.
I do, but only for me. DH has known my fanjeau in so many degrees of hairiness or lack thereof over the past 25 years, and honestly couldn't care less, as long as he is allowed visiting and foraging rights.

GhettoFabulous · 14/10/2014 21:36

I very much expect a lover to forage in my au natural ladyparts. Trust me, I'm not short of admirers.

fizzymittens · 14/10/2014 21:36

Clap what a load of old twaddle. A full bush is not the mark of a real woman any more than hairy armpits are. But I suppose you were joking anyway so never mind.

And Tinkly tending to the lady garden has nothing to do with porn.

wafflingworrier · 14/10/2014 21:42

why not say you will do it if he does too?
see how much he likes the ridiculous discomfort?

you could also go for the extreme option of staring him in the eye every time he makes a joke about it and saying "no sex tonight".

your body, your choice. YANBU

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 14/10/2014 21:43

Fizzy what HAS it to do with then?

Only1scoop · 14/10/2014 21:49

Having a tidy garden is Nowt to do with porn Confused

fizzymittens · 14/10/2014 21:51

Check your history. Pubic hair removal has been around a whole lot longer than any porn website.

JamaicanMeCrazy · 14/10/2014 21:51

If he doesn't like the look of it, he doesn't have to look at it Wink

juss sayin'

JeanneDeMontbaston · 14/10/2014 21:51

Grin I adore 'bleating about your bush'.

Honestly, if this is so very important to him, well ... I suppose people do have strange deal-breakers but that's his option, not you caving in and having to live doing the wincing wide-legged walk everywhere.

JeanneDeMontbaston · 14/10/2014 21:53

Btw, er, hair removal down there probably does correlate with porn.

People have been removing hair from all sorts of places, for all sorts of reasons, for millenia. But it's rather wishful thinking to imagine anyone today miraculously happens to be following the fashion of 812 AD rather than the fashion of 2014!

fizzymittens · 14/10/2014 21:54

Clap - you WERE joking when you came out with that rubbish about a full bush being the mark of a real woman weren't you? Incidentally you used the word pussy which I think IS quite porny.

Woozlebear · 14/10/2014 21:54

He is. Do you really need to ask?

fizzymittens · 14/10/2014 21:55

Well for me (and I suspect many others) it has nothing to do with porn whatsoever and everything to do with feeling clean, tidy and enjoying oral sex more.

Daddypigsgusset · 14/10/2014 21:55

Boak to hairy dicks
Strawberry in a nest anybody?

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/10/2014 22:01

Goodness. OP, YANBU, have your bush how you want and tell him to pipe down with the jokes

However some of the comments from posters about how other people choose to have or not have their own pubic hair are ridiculous. A man can shave his balls whilst still being perfectly comfortable with his sexuality. A woman who chooses to be hairless or to trim is still a real woman.

fizzymittens · 14/10/2014 22:07

Officer - over invested? One post saying that I trim mine and a couple of posts countering the ridiculous notions that hair removal is a new thing and that you are not a real woman unless you go au naturale.

I hardly think that qualifies as over invested. More idle flicking through AIBU as I am bored.

AyMamita · 14/10/2014 22:11

Thought this was going to be a thread about a hedgerow dispute with a next door neighbour, the kind that runs to hundreds of posts and has everyone frantically checking for updates.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/10/2014 22:14

does he shave to make it look longer?
