It is still October ffs.

It's bad enough that mince pies have been in the supermarket for weeks already, the garden centre is festooned with illuminated reindeer already and the xmas catalogues are coming through the door already - but I expected better of Mumsnet. I really did.

It lovely to be looking at Christmas things when it's cold, wet, dark and raining outside and it's not even 7.00pm.

If you're talking about the 'stickied' MN thread about the Mumsnet Secret Santa, then, yes - YABVU.

It is a huge undertaking for MNHQ to co-ordinate - along with all the MNers who participate. Of course they have to start it now.

I think the Mumsnet Secret Santa is a wonderful idea. I don't think it's too early for people to let them know what will be donated at all.

We had our Slimming World Christmas Taste-In and Dress-Up today - I didn't go. I don't even START thinking about Christmas until November FFS.

I agree. The mnss is a lovely idea, and I bet it's a real ballache to organise.

It's not like they've gone totally hohoho and all the festive emoticons are out.

MNHQ has to have a massive spreadsheet for the Secret Santa.

MNers who have nominated another MNer.

MNers who have offered to sent a gift to another MNer.

Then the wonderful SandyMNHQ has to try to match all of these - bearing in mind she needs to hear from everyone involved. It must be a logistical nightmare. Of course she needs to know by the end of this month.

I would normally agree with you though as I hate all mention of Christmas before at least 1 December but the MNSS is an exception :)

Since it started in July it's probably too late to complain.
