To ask you experienced mums if my waters have broke or leaked?!

Hi girls! I know I'm BU for posting here but my local maternity phone line is so busy today that I can't get through and I'm freaking out!

First baby so bare with me as I know next to nothing and this is a bit TMI! I'm 39 weeks and two days, due on Sunday! My scan on Monday said baby looked great and his head was low and all I'm position! But for the past two days I've been having really bad stabbing sharp pains that feel like they're coming from my bum cheek area (sorry!!Blush) and sometimes spread to my lower back! They were that bad last night I could sit on the toliet because of the sharp pains !

Today though after I came out of the shower I got a trickle of watery creamy (yellow tinged but more creamy) substance go down my leg, it was only a little so it didn't really bother me. After I got dressed I got another small ....um gush ? I'm not sure because it was only a little amount but that's what it felt like! Of the same fluid, it only dampened my underwear slightly and is barely noticeable as it wasn't continuous but I have no clue what it was! I have no stabbing pains or cramps (baby has been more active since the scan though), no more fluid either and the fluid doesn't smell sweet (again sorry!! Blush) so I have no clue if this is my waters or something else!

Please forgive and take pity on a panicking first time mum !! SadThanks

It doesn't sound like waters, but please go in and get checked anyway, that's what they're there for and they really won't mind. Put your mind at rest. Good luck with the impending arrival :)

You're due in 4 days and have had pains spreading from lower back to bum plus leaking amnio -

I think you're in early labor! Keep ringing the labor ward and inform your birth partner Grin

AnyFucker · 14/10/2014 13:47

I would take yourself off to the labour ward instead of pratting about on t'internet

VSeth · 14/10/2014 13:49

I think you might be in labour. I had a discharge and couldn't sit down. Had to wear a towell. Waters going was more watery and didn't stop.

Kolabunnycue · 14/10/2014 14:00

Thanks guys

No pains right now just the watery discharge which stopped after I got dressed! But I Got through to someone who's told me to ring back in a few minutes so I can talk to a midwife as they've been "like a cattle market." Today! Though the girl on the phone doesn't think any things wrong but I'll wait to see what the midwife has to say!

OP i was in early labor for 3 days at home with my first. Pains coming and going. Bit of water leakage. I spent too much time 'resting' and it prolonged it all way too much.

Of course the midwife will be able to help you properly, but my advice is to keep up and moving about gently this morning. If you are in early labor this will keep things on the go! Good luck.

x2boys · 14/10/2014 14:17

With my first my waters ' went' without me going into labour it did feel like a gush and it kept happening as I didn't dilate I needed to be induced would get yourself checked at the maternity unit they will be able to tell you what's happening good luck !

Aeroflotgirl · 14/10/2014 14:19

I would definitely keep ringing the labour ward and your Midwife.

jacks365 · 14/10/2014 14:22

You sound exactly as I was with my first so I went in not knowing exactly what to expect, it was just leaking but I was already 7 cm dilated so they broke my waters properly and my dd was born 2 hours later.

ithoughtofitfirst · 14/10/2014 14:23

I'm 3 says overdue. Not a twinge. Envy

yes yes sounds like you're in labour.

Kolabunnycue · 14/10/2014 14:41
