There it was shining brightly, quite clearly white.

Why does the media feed us this rubbish?

Some of us have to let our children down gently after they have gotten allllllllllll excited about blood moons Confused

I think your kids will be ok.

MelanieCheeks · 09/10/2014 14:10

Are you in the UK? It wasn't visible from Europe, only in America, and then Asia.

inloominotnorti · 09/10/2014 14:13

Are you sure lady? Grin

I just doubt the media Grinthey always hype everything up.

inloominotnorti · 09/10/2014 14:15

If they could just put blood moon over Asia or something, so we don't have to read the entire article only to find out there isn't actually a blood moon where we are after all.

Must have been a slow news week Sad

Seriously. You saw 'blood moon' and read no further to find out what that actually meant or where it would be visible? Yeah you were really interested in that werent you? Hmm

KingJoffreysBloodshotEye · 09/10/2014 14:31

Blood Oranges are pretty 'meh' too.

I think it would be a good idea for you and your children to research lunar eclipses.
How it occurs when the moon is in the Earth's shadow.
Pay attention as to when they happen and why they are not always visible throughout the whole world.

figgypuddings · 09/10/2014 14:33

Well, I bloody missed seeing it.

LeezieLindsay · 09/10/2014 14:35

It was only visible in the UK via webcam

TraceyTrickster · 10/10/2014 03:54

we were meant to have it in Australia- hyped my daughter up and kept her up later....only for clouds to roll in and all we saw for 2 hours (she had gone to bed by this time) was thick cloud.

So no better here.

Missymoomum · 10/10/2014 04:07

I saw it here in China (despite the bad pollution) - a very lovely orange colour!

Darkandstormynight · 10/10/2014 04:08

We are in the Western US and I got up at 4:30 to use the washroom and figured I'd take a look. It got more red as time went on but by 5:00 I was quite done, as it still wasn't that red. I took a picture but it wasn't very impressive.

Dustyblue · 10/10/2014 05:26

It looked pretty good from here in southern Australia. Not exactly bloody though, more a burnt orange colour. Looked great when it was half and half though. We were lucky with the clouds.

Your kids will get to see another one... I've seen 2 now. No biggie:)

I'm in Northern Canada. It was quite good here
