To want to go home after an hour long bus journey from work?

Instead of going to DP's mothers to chat and smoke for about an hour and a half?

I leave the house at 8am and dont get into local bus station until 7pm, I rely on my DP to drive me home where I can have tea and a shower etc. Except it always seems to be "lets pop here".

I wouldn't mind but they spend the whole time bickering and shouting.

Angry today

YANBU. That would piss me off.

I hear you. When I worked long hours in a nightclub we had a system where one staff member got paid to drive others, including me, home. Every feckin Saturday night on the way home they decided to 'pop in' to someone's house for a smoke and a gossip. It was 3 am and I wanted to go to beeeeeeeed!

So, yep, sympathise.

Yanbu.

Is there any other way you could get back?

Have you explained to him why this is annoying and that he needs to drop you off before going anywhere else?

Inkanta · 08/10/2014 20:25

Well say NO lets not pop here Smile

Try saying it in a nice way first and see if that works. I really like your Mum and would love to visit on a day off once every 6 months, but I am just too tired after work and I think we would enjoy our evening together more if I get a little time to relax and take a shower.

Yanbu Wine

Is this every day, or even every week?! No, you're not unreasonable... unless you haven't complained or objected. If you've smiled sweetly and never let drop that it's annoyed you, you're the unreasonable one.

You ANBU. My OH is the kind of guy who would do that and it would piss me right off. I wouldn't mind if he had pre-warned me before picking me up, so I would be aware that I wouldn't be going home to get comfy.
