to think that Poundland should not have 18 rated horror flicks on the same rack as kids Halloween DVDs...

in the middle of the aisle at children's eye-line height?

Really annoyed me and I have complained. Just the pictures and titles are enough to scare me (wimp) let alone a small child.

I love a bargain but will be steering clear.

did you say anything while instore? To the manager, maybe?

Fixerupperz · 07/10/2014 22:47

YABU and a little precious imo.

KissMyFatArse · 07/10/2014 22:48

Could it have been left there by someone looking and not actually stacked?? If so.... Yabu

maddy68 · 07/10/2014 23:03

Why? They can't watch it in store, and they can't purchase them as they have a rating on them. Makes me smile this sort of prudishness. Very British. I lived in holland fior a while, they have a far healthier outlook on sex in my opinion

OddBoots · 07/10/2014 23:06

I'm trying to think if the covers of the DVDs would be any different to the movie posters up on billboards and bus stops, I'm not sure they are.

HeySoulSister · 07/10/2014 23:08

The kids Halloween tat is just as 'scary'

BobPatandIgglePiggle · 07/10/2014 23:10

Ridiculous. They weren't showing the films instore, 18s are on sale in hmv etc too. I could not be arsed to get worked up over this.

BobPatandIgglePiggle · 07/10/2014 23:12

Oh, and I know 11year old children who are taller than me. Where do you draw the line at 'eye level'?

LadyLuck10 · 07/10/2014 23:12

Yabu, preciousness at it's best.

HeySoulSister · 07/10/2014 23:16

Yes, what's 'eye level'?

stopgap · 07/10/2014 23:32

We are in America, and I'm agog at the fact that in kids' toy stores are the goriest Halloween things you could imagine (think life sized vomiting Exorcist puppets and Alien protruding from a stomach). We avoid lots of places in the run up to Halloween, as my three year old is understandably terrified. The DVD problem sounds tamer, but I can still see why YANBU.

Seriously?

YABU - supervise your kids whether shopping or what they may try to view under your roof - that is if they manage to purchase one.

I hope you werent in there buying lots of sweets

PiperRose · 08/10/2014 16:34

Guess what OP, not everyone in the world is or has children. Child free adults are consumers too.

I would trust the staff not to sell such things to anyone underage,

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 08/10/2014 16:37

I have small children and I think YABU.

Plus, I'm so short if they put them too high, I might not see them! :o

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 08/10/2014 16:38

Oh you can all stop Confused at the OP! I think she's right! The nasty images on those films belong on a high shelf.

PiperRose · 08/10/2014 17:12

Then you're discriminating against me, an adult of 5ft. Or don't I matter?

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 08/10/2014 18:38

By eye level I mean a small cardboard stand in the middle of an aisle, not taller than 1m, and not on a shelf at the side. So toddler height, not tall 11 year old.

The 18s are literally placed right next to kids films, they were not even on different sides. I would have no problem with a horror section in HMV, it's not comparable. I'm not precious, it was poorly thought out. They were very gory covers- scantily clad or masked people covered in blood holding knives.

Sorry if any small people felt discriminated against.

jellybelly701 · 08/10/2014 18:48

poundland is not a DVD store. they don't have the room to have a complete different section for What will realistically be no more than 30 DVD's.

how can you get worked up about a DVD case aimed at adults, showing a bloody knife, when there is actual plastic bloody knifes aimed at kids on the next isle?

whatever you do don't look at the feminine hygiene isle, in my local store they stock bullets and cockrings Shock

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/10/2014 23:03

You're still being wildly unreasonable.
