AIBU to think the use of the term genocide here is offensive?

One of those posts on Facebook people share on their walls. States 122 whites killed on South Africa so far this year (which is obviously very sad and tragic for the families involved) and then calls for this "genocide" to be stopped.

Population of South Africa roughly 53 million, whites about 9% of that, so 122 out of approx 5 million is hardly genocide. AIBU to think this is inflammatory and potentially offensive to people who have experienced actual genocide/ethnic cleansing?

No idea how many blacks are killed in South Africa, but I am sure the number is far greater. AIBU to think that people who created/share these posts don't give a damn about that?

Tbh my view is probably clouded by the fact the person who shared this has previously referred to blacks as "savages"

YANBU. It's a misuse of the term.

YANBU. Misuse of the term.

The person who shared it sounds like someone I'd rather not know.

YANBU improper use of the word + sounds like a white supremacist to boot.

Ditch them.
