I love gas fires, so I think YABU.

I've not actually seen a gas fire for years. We have an electric thing with aspirations. It tries hard, but it's not the same.

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 05/10/2014 20:37

What? Lots of people have a gas fire. It's not a "bad thing". Unless it's leaking? Does it smell or something?

LadySybilLikesCake · 05/10/2014 20:40

When was the last time you had it checked? It shouldn't make you feel sick. You can't smell carbon monoxide by the way.

ChippingInLatteLover · 05/10/2014 20:41

They make me feel sick too. No one said it was the carbon monoxide.

ChippingInLatteLover · 05/10/2014 20:43

...and quite frankly, people saying 'it shouldn't make you feel sick' is starting to piss me right off. It's the 3rd or 4th time this week someone has said 'it shouldn't make you feel sick' (about different things)... well it bloody does OK. Grrrr.

TooMuchCantBreath · 05/10/2014 20:45

Ugh I hate being too hot. Definitely move somewhere else if they cba to put a jumper on!

ilovechristmas1 · 05/10/2014 20:45

well ive lit my open fire and its great

i also have a carbon monoxide tester next to it just in case

hormonalandneedingcheese · 05/10/2014 20:46

Do you not have central heating? Why didn't he put that on instead if you do? I dislike gas fires, something in them makes me feel iffy. Wood burners do too, i feel all heady cold and sneezy, but only if certain wood is used.

PunkrockerGirl · 06/10/2014 07:08

Yes it was checked recently. The central heating may have to go on I think!
