AIBU to wear black tights with unshaven legs?

Okay so I only shave my legs every two weeks or so because they aren't really particularly hairy, but still if they were bare you'd be able to see they were a bit fuzzy.

Anyways, for years and years I've always assumed that if you wear black tights you wouldn't be able to see anything at all so have always done so.

Friend has just piped up that this isn't the case and she can always tell! Please someone say it ain't so, or I've been making this faux pas for a loooong time.

This is the done thing isn't it? I thought it was the whole point of black tights! Can't say I've ever noticed on someone else and can't really see on myself, but am cringing at the thought of my legs in silhouette looking like a cactus! Argh!

I have practically no hair above my knees, just peach fuzz, so I just shave below the knee. I want to wear tights, I shave because I like feeling of bare skin on nylon.

Shave one leg and ask your friend if she can tell whether you've shaved or not lol

pandarific · 03/10/2014 18:20

...I thought this was what black tights were FOR.

I have also been known to use sheer tights to hide stubble (blonde).

inloominotnorti · 03/10/2014 18:26

Go for it! I feel certain it has a cool name now and everything!

I have never had stubble poking through my tights even when I haven't shaved them for two weeks.

People shave above the knee? Shock

I don't think it would show with the black tights I wear, but if I was that worried I'd just wear trousers.

paxtecum · 03/10/2014 20:26

Apparently in the USA some women de-fuzz inside their nostrils.

I think I'll not shave my legs all winter and see how long the hairs grow.

I was a teenager in the 60s and early 70s when it was normal to have furry armpits and hairy legs.

JapaneseMargaret · 03/10/2014 20:40

Your friend needs to unclench! It's what winter and opaques are for.

Why does she care?!

ScrambledeggLDCcakeBOAK · 03/10/2014 20:53

wendy

If that was true (depending on the tights) your friend would have pointed it out to if she was a friend wouldn't she?

So logic dictates she prob hadn't noticed.

hormonalandneedingcheese · 03/10/2014 22:31

Sometimes if the hair is coarse they can poke through, I've poked through thin leggings and tights before but I don't shave I wax and in winter that drops dramatically. So depends on your hair type.

Go girl. its your own little secret

Purplecircle · 08/10/2014 07:24

Does anyone look closely enough at other peoples legs to be able to see if hairs are poking through?
It's time to shave when they poke through and get pulled...that smarts!

TweedAddict · 08/10/2014 07:48

Slack

Do people really pay £300 for tights?!? Your not from that company are you?!!!!
