Such a first world problem but I bought a pack of Gu cheesecake basically for the pots. So I cleaned them out and wake up to find he's used them both as ash trays

Apparently he can put better use to them then I can and I'll never use them

I don't see the problem. Surely this means you have to buy (and eat) more cheesecake now?

Suggest you buy more. Eat them both (yourself). Tell him in no uncertain terms that he is not to use the pots as ashtrays as you have plans for them.

What were you going to use them for?

Can't you just wash them?

Oh I bought some very expensive puddings for the beautiful, brightly coloured pots, and DH just threw them all away. The puddings weren't even that nice either.

They do make marvellous ashtrays

All that said your problem is now complex, for if you acquire more, you must not only segregate the two pairs but prevent the new ones from being ashtrayed also.

Just wash them and use them for what you intended? It all seems melodramatic to be fuming.

I'd probably be a bit annoyed (at myself if I'd neglected to tell him I wanted the pots) but it's easily rectified really.

I have about 20 of the things in my cupboard. If your happy to pay postage I can send you a load

I save all the GU pots and DP us always moaning about them being useless and taking up too much space in the cupboard. Psh.

I use them for baby food but I don't need 20 lol. Gave some to my MIL, always happy to offload some as DP loves the lemon cheesecake.

I use them as ramekins for toddler sized portions of cottage pie. Usually recycle when I've accumulated too many but I do find them useful.

Tbh I'd probably run the ashtrays through the dishwasher and then use as intended.
