I've been on hold to Tax Credits for 50 minutes, is this usual?

Don't think we've ever been on hold that long! I personally wouldn't hold that long..you must have the patience of a saint!

It's for dd's DLA, has to be done, as I have been hanging up in frustrated fury for a week, that's when I even managed to get through to being on hold!

Keep hanging on, then ask to make a formal complaint about the waiting time. You might get a bit of compensation. I used to work there, many many years ago.

I always have the same problem unless I ring at 7.55am. By the time I get through the stupid automated menu its 8am and usually only on hold for 10-15 minutes.

Its ridiculous how much it costs to be in hold for half hour or more. Last time they screwed up it cost me almost £20 in phone calls to get their mistake sorted.

I've avoided hanging on for ages this morning to tell HM R&C that DD3 is still in FT education by going online and doing it. God send!

Managed to get thorough after an hour, all done. Let's hope I don't have to do that again for a while!

What number have you used.

I use 0843 538 5253 because you can use your minutes on mobile.

Don't think I have ever been on the phone for that long with TC

I always call when they open at 8am or just before 8pm get through much quicker.

I've always been on hold to them for just under an hour. It's soul destroying.
