I go to art classes, still very much a learner, but really keen. The local hospice had a fund raiser at the weekend and my art teacher was asked to submit paintings in an exhibition. Other artists submitted paintings, drawings and photographs. One artist ( a professional) donated an ink and watercolour painting of a local landmark, it was really lovely. The raffle was won and the evening was declared a success.
My art teacher collected her students work the following day to find an oil painting missing. Mine! In its stand was the picture presented to the raffle winner. The bugger had swopped them! A load of phone calls later, my poor stressed art teacher had tracked down the painting and was able to return it to me. Apparently the winner preferred my picture as the colours went in their living room, the (far superior) picture that they had won " didn't go with the decor".
So AIBU to feel rather chuffed my painting was nicked?
