DH and I are flying out to Rome tomorrow. We are then picking up a hire car touring for a month. This will involve a formal black tie do. DH has decided we will only take hand luggage. SO he has crammed his dj still in its heavy duty suit protector, two pairs of walking boots his camera stuff into one and has said I can have the other for all our clothes,toiletries and medicines. AIBU to feel a bit doubtful about this?

Just go online, add a case for hold baggage for yourself and leave him to it. You can't do a month of touring and a black tie in two pieces of hand baggage, unless you want to be washing your knicks in the sink every night. Grim.

Lonny - it's grimmer carrying around month old unwashed knickers IMO!

I just take lush solid shampoo and soap. Lasts ages and gets around travel restrictions. It's October so not going to need buckets of suncream either.

If you want hold luggage then you can book it, you don't need his permission.

If you go just hand luggage then it's one bag each.
