To think that the NHS/Public Sector Health/Care services are at a real disadvantage?

Freedom of speech is a vitally important thing that was fought for and achieved. I would never want it to be curbed. However, it seems very unfair that people can go to the press and sell 'their story', saying almost anything they like, whether true, exaggerated or misinterpreted, and the organisation involved can't make comment because of confidentiality.

I almost think that if someone makes allegations in the press, then the organisation involved should have right of reply on that matter, and confidentiality should be considered void for it.

Is that about Ashya King? I think it is the classic case of shit stirring campaign against the NHS.

Not specifically, but that's whatprompted this thread. I've seen it lots though. Someone goes to the press, slings buckets of mud and a spokesperson has to say "we can't comment on individual cases..."
