AIBU to think we really have come quite a long way (but still have quite a way to go)?

This makes me grateful that things are the way they are.

All the same, as a hospital doctor who is always, always addressed as "Nurse" unless told otherwise, we have quite a way to go.

I'm not in any way offended at the concept of being a nurse. Those I work with are wonderful, caring, excellent professionals. It's the assumption that a woman in a hospital could not be something else (including pharmacist, radiographer, physio, SLT etc.).

And feminism-wise, the hospital thing is certainly not the most pressing issue - far from it, but I have to say the ads above shocked me just a little.

not far enough

Those are horrific!

It's shocking that you still get that at work. I was in hospital last week and had a fabulous male nurse & a female surgeon - it's hardly unusual!
