Is this rude or am I overreacting?

I've been seeing a guy for about a month. We get on really well and he's being staying at mine a few nights a week. Some nights he suggests it some nights its me.

Any way decided that tonight he would stay at home to give us a chance to miss each other (cheesy I know). He messaged a little while go saying he's coming over he really wants to see me. Then says he's not really coming. Fair enough I get gusset sense of humour.

He then said. I do wanna come but I'll have a shot sleep.

I said. Nice.

He said he said he didn't mean it like that. It's because there's a fly in the room! Confused

So I said it's fine. Bit pissed off and actually offended tbh!

Then he asks should he come over and I said no I don't want you to come if you don't want to!

He's pissed off now. I'm pissed off too.

Am I being over sensitive or is what he said rude?

Are you sure the "fly" isn't your snoring?

Adayinthelife · 25/09/2014 09:22

How does he know there's a fly in your room?!

Aridane · 25/09/2014 09:25

Reminds me of the episode in Breaking Bad centred around Walter White getting rid of a fly in the meth lab!

Only1scoop · 25/09/2014 09:25

Eh wot ....

gamerchick · 25/09/2014 09:32

I'm thinking snoring as well tbh. The fly thing was just him saving himself from putting his foot in it further.

Personally it sounds as if he wanted to come over for a shag and that's all.

PlumpPartridge · 25/09/2014 09:36

What? Confused.

Pagwatch · 25/09/2014 09:37

He wanted to come over for a shag but was trying to tee up an excuse to leave afterwards. He was just too thick to come up with a good excuse so came up with flygate.

19lottie82 · 25/09/2014 09:39

fly aside, it always takes (me should I say took as I got married 2 months ago!) AGES to get used to sleeping next to a new partner. Like months. Never got a decent nights sleep until then and it can be a bit draining.

R4roger · 25/09/2014 09:48

but how can he know there is a fly in your room Confused

very odd.
i know, buy some fly paper and hang it near where he sleeps Grin

LemonadeRayGun · 25/09/2014 11:24

I agree with PP it sounds like he was hoping your response would be, oh just come over for a shag and then you can go home to your fly free existence after. He sounds a bit odd and childish but it is also ringing alarm bells to me...

ArabellaTarantella · 25/09/2014 11:58

I think you should both get your school uniforms ready for the morning.

theressomethingaboutmarie · 25/09/2014 12:07

CALL each other for goodness sake. TALK about issues rather than relying on text's that can be misconstrued.

gamerchick · 25/09/2014 12:30

Moon pig stuff 2 parcels xxxxxzx

gamerchick · 25/09/2014 12:31

Ooops that isn't a text

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 25/09/2014 13:14

This thread has given me a headache, even the fly buzzing around my living room is thinking, "WTAF"

KellyElly · 25/09/2014 15:11

What's the kids comment mean? I'm assuming Worra means because you've been seeing him for a month and it would be a bit quick to have someone you're shagging over while your kids were there that quick. But I may be wrong??

WorraLiberty · 25/09/2014 15:13

Yeah that's what I meant

That and the childish behaviour lol

EllasMum16 · 25/09/2014 15:21

I just laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes. DD is looking at me as if I've gone mad...

It was obviously a back pedal, and a very silly one.

Flygate... snorts

neiljames77 · 25/09/2014 15:23

Buy a can of insect repellent and spray it liberally.........

......then you and the fly will be rid of him and you'll get some peace.
Grin

KellyElly · 25/09/2014 15:30

WorraLiberty Agree on both points!

Only1scoop · 25/09/2014 15:46

I don't even get the gist of this ....
Are you both 6?

ReallyOTT · 25/09/2014 16:08

He stayed the other night said the fly was there then? I'm flattered that he thinks my humble Abode is good enough to keep a pet fly! Grin

I wouldn't mind if he just wanted to come over for shag. He never goes home after leave for work from here.

No kids

I'm having a girlfriend round tonight so he can have another peaceful nights sleep. Twat

neiljames77 · 25/09/2014 16:13

The fly might be on his own because his girlfriend doesn't want to come round in case your boyfriend is there.
Smile

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 25/09/2014 16:25

Are you sure it's a fly? Not a dead wasp?

ReallyOTT · 25/09/2014 16:37

Hahaha Neil! I'll have to tell him that!
