Is this rude or am I overreacting?

I've been seeing a guy for about a month. We get on really well and he's being staying at mine a few nights a week. Some nights he suggests it some nights its me.

Any way decided that tonight he would stay at home to give us a chance to miss each other (cheesy I know). He messaged a little while go saying he's coming over he really wants to see me. Then says he's not really coming. Fair enough I get gusset sense of humour.

He then said. I do wanna come but I'll have a shot sleep.

I said. Nice.

He said he said he didn't mean it like that. It's because there's a fly in the room! Confused

So I said it's fine. Bit pissed off and actually offended tbh!

Then he asks should he come over and I said no I don't want you to come if you don't want to!

He's pissed off now. I'm pissed off too.

Am I being over sensitive or is what he said rude?

I'm confused. Which room is the fly in, his room or your room?

ReallyOTT · 24/09/2014 23:04

My bedroom apparently. Haven't seen or heard it myself I must say.

How old are the people involved?

WorraLiberty · 24/09/2014 23:07

Please tell me you don't have kids living with you?

How does he know there's a fly in your room?

Are you both on glue?

ReallyOTT · 24/09/2014 23:07

Have you considered trying to get the fly out of the bedroom? Sorry, I know it's a radical suggestion, maybe not possible.

ReallyOTT · 24/09/2014 23:11

I can't find a fly!

This is ridiculous Grin

Confused

Weird that he is assuming a flay that was in your room yesterday would still be there - I would have assumed it has gone by now?!

Pagwatch · 24/09/2014 23:12

Perhaps the fly will die.
You could get a spider to swallow the fly but that gets complicated and you'd need an old lady

ohdearitshappeningtome · 24/09/2014 23:16

Find a new boyfriend and keep the fly .....

MsVestibule · 24/09/2014 23:18

pag she'd also need a horse, cow, cat and dog, and maybe more, so that really would give him a poor nights sleep. Nice thought, but a bit of a non-starter I think.

Glitterkitten24 · 24/09/2014 23:19

Grin pagwatch hilarious!

Pagwatch · 24/09/2014 23:36

Well except that the old lady dies..

I've just read this thread and now I think I must be on glue. Confused

IneedAwittierNickname · 25/09/2014 00:04

Hey? A fly? Is Sharon there? Was someone t-rexing? Grin
MN is weird sometimes.

Ahardyfool · 25/09/2014 00:09

All ridiculousness aside, this is a RED FLAG moment. He is testing your boundaries. You MUST act like you don't give two hoots what the frig he does, or else actually don't give a rat's watsit for real and find a non-mind game playing man.

Do you see what he is doing here? Nasty bit of manipulative bollocks is what it is.

Whereisegg · 25/09/2014 00:39

Nearly 30?! ShockConfused

Bulbasaur · 25/09/2014 01:02

A fly. Hmm

That's either the worst back peddle in history, or he's testing boundaries and playing games. He was probably expecting an insecure "No, please come over, I'll do whatever you want to accommodate you" instead of an irritated "Nice".

Stop lurking around the school yard to pick up boys.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 25/09/2014 01:07

I don't get it sorry. All this over a fly. Yeah get some sleep.

madamemuddle · 25/09/2014 01:20

You sound like a couple of twelve year olds.

Do you really have nothing better to do with your life than send stupid texts?

Biffalobuff · 25/09/2014 01:33

I still don't get it,he texted you from another house and said if he comes over he won't stay long at your house as there's a fly in the room? How did he know this?Does he have cameras?I presume he knows that flies move so if it had been there several hours ago it may not be there now so I would be concerned that either a) he has installed secret cameras in your bedroom or b) he attaches tracking devices to all insects he sees.
Either way not a keeper I'd say.

Surfsup1 · 25/09/2014 01:36

What on earth are you two on about!!??

borisgudanov · 25/09/2014 02:20

Well you must be compatible because you're clearly both on glue. HTH.
