Bus queues - do they exist?

So if I'm waiting on a bus I let people who got there first go on before me - it's a really busy bus and often only one or two people get on and the rest have to wait.

AIBU to think if I've been waiting for ten minutes and someone swans up as the bus pulls up, I have priority? On more than one occasion -the same person has dived for the bus and I've had to wait on the next one (which potentially makes me late for work). They've also convinced the driver to let them on when they've already been told there's no room. Is this rude or does no such etiquette exist?

First at bus stop=first on bus where I live. London sounds like Hell.

Definite queues in sheffield.

I reckon Londoners have been confused by the tube which noone queues for. Its crept over to buses.
