Is this selfish and greedy?

It was a family birthday yesterday and there was a bit of cake left which we were planning to have tonight after dinner.
Just noticed that one of my siblings (an adult) has come in and just taken the whole of the icing off of the top so all that's left is a bit of bare sponge. Nobody will really want it now.

AIBU to think this is quite selfish and greedy? I know it's not a big deal but I want to say something as this is the last straw after a number of selfish things. We don't often have birthday cake and some of us were looking forward to it.

I have a sibling who does things like this. It makes me mad.

Rude, selfish and greedy!

pictish · 23/09/2014 16:11

Rude and bloody childish as well!
I hope you've given him/her what for!

I'd go nuts, the icing is the second-best bit Shock

(after the buttercream ofc)

AMumInScotland · 23/09/2014 16:32

Very selfish, and I think I'd have to say something.

It would probably include quite a lot of swear words!

It would be a bit selfish to have taken a big slice of cake & icing without checking with other people. It would be pretty selfish to eat the whole lot.

But it is quite monumentally selfish to spoil the whole thing when you only want one part of it.

SqueegeeBeckenheim · 23/09/2014 16:36

Really quite horrible of them.

Although I am a complete cake fiend so I'd still scarf it.

BeggingYourPardon · 23/09/2014 16:36

I hate icing so would be happy with a bit of sponge, but I would have offered my icing out to an icing lover. Just taking it is so rude!!

Ludways · 23/09/2014 16:47

I'd be fuming and I hate icing. It makes the cake look half eaten and nobody wants a half eaten cake.

Put the remainder of the sponge in the fridge without covering it for three hours, and then make them eat it!!!!!

Viviennemary · 23/09/2014 16:52

No excuse. Really selfish, greedy and rude. I'd challenge them.
