As a teenager in the 80's I listened to The Misfits with such lyrical genius as:

It's always been there, I think as adults we just notice it more. I certainly didn't equate the Misfits song with infanticide as a kid, I just sang along without thinking too deeply about it and I think most teens do the same today. They kind of reach a point where they think "Oh shit, THATS what it means"

Personally I find the whole song an assault on my ears, but lyrical content (or lack thereof) doesn't bother me much.

So many videos are like that these days, not just hers.

I find it sad. Some people try and claim it's about women expressing their sexuality but I don't buy it. Seems more like it's for mens benefit IMHO.

It's also incredibly boring. You see so many male musicians making really innovative and interesting videos. Then you see the womens' videos and it's all simulating sex as closely as possible without actually having sex. Sometimes if they play them in a row you can't tell where one video starts and another ends. I'm not shocked by them because I've seen it all before.
