To eat my dinner?

Sitting here waiting for BIL who is meant to be dropping in to see us after a wedding he's attending with
His gf. He would only commit to an arrival time of 'late afternoon/early evening' to my DH (who should have asked him to have been more specific). However we are so hungry and want to eat and the dog needs a walk.

AIBU to just have my dinner now and if they turn up they can watch us eat.

Just eat - as long as it doesn't take hours. They might not arrive til 8pm... Aren't they expecting to wat with you? Don't both walk the dog and leave the house locked up though - that would be rude.

Is phoning bill for an eta not an option?

Eat. Then if you are eating, don't answer the door until you have finished, and go and walk the dog. If you miss him then he should have been a bit more fucking specific.

If you have not arranged a firm time or asked them for dinner, just eat. I might put some nibbles in a bowl and drinks they can serve themselves on the side though, if I were you. Then they could drink and eat with you, so not watching as such.

I don't think so, DH didn't discuss meals with them they just asked of they could pop in on their way back but it would be afternoon so DH said 'yes, pop in for some tea and cake'. Now it's 'late afternoon/early evening'.

Dinner is spag bol. She's vegan. I thought they'd be gone by then.

They're at a wedding? Eat! Definitely! They never run to time and even if this one has, he may still be propping up the bar with some old acquaintance. Contact him if you can and ask for an eta but if you can't get one, just eat!

No wedding was yesterday, they're having lunch with her family and then making their way home via us (we are apx half way)

Has he switched his phone off?

bebebringingup · 21/09/2014 18:19

Either that or there's no reception- which is likely.
