Anyone want to play wedding bingo with H's new job?!

one week and 2 weddings into his new job and we have....

1 Fight
1 Groom arrested
Several people playing musical bedrooms due to affairs/cheating/shagging around
Random seating plan changes by guests
Above guests expecting waiting staff to know where they had moved to
Pre ordered meals suddenly unacceptable (notably several who ordered the meat option who suddenly turn out to be veggie)
Many cases of "do you know who I am" from wedding party members who want a drink after time

As a veteran of wedding service non of this is news to me, but H has never worked in a wedding setting before so he comes home with "You wont BELIEVE what happened tonight!" Yes I would love....it will only get worse! :o

Poor Dh, but the wedding with a death...I met a lady who had 2 deaths at hers she said she was did not know about either until she returned from her Honeymoon ...
So apparently first was her Gran who was very ill, and so couldn't attend, they visited her on the way to the reception, she died about 2 hour later, Her Mum was informed but decided to keep it quiet and stayed for about 45 mins before saying she had a migraine obviously because she was upset her mum had died. Bride said she was none the wiser because her Mum really suffered with migraines.
Second was an aunt of her Dh, on the dance floor, she saw her trip, she knows better now, there was a bit of a crowd round the aunt, bride and groom whisked off for photos round the pond.
When they got back ambulance there just leaving but they where told Aunt had broken her ankle.

Apparently rest if guests in both sides where told don't say anything x/y would hate to ruin a party

Our local registrar told me that, on average, there will be a bride in labour twice a year.

I was at a wedding when one of the guests died. She was an old lady and had been very ill. She started to feel bad in the church so went back to the house after the service and died peacefully with her husband with her.

The reception went ahead because her son and daughter-in-law (parents of the bride) knew she wouldn't want the celebration to stop because of her. Her husband also didn't want the reception stopped.

The bride knew her grandmother was ill and was told the sad news the next morning.

Oh yes, I worked as a function room manager for a couple of years and weddings were most entertaining Grin
Had the 'do you know who I am' yes you're a prick, nightmare brides/grooms/guests, had to call the police a couple of times , tantrums over colour schemes, you name it we had it!

I remember 1 mumsnetter said she worked at a wedding venue, the bride went in search of a lighter and find some blokes who werent at the wedding and got talking to them, the bride then went to one of the blokes room still in her dress, the groom came looking, staff said they didnt know where she was, but to admit it when he wanted to call the police. Apparently bride past out in blokes room and had to walk down the reception area to get her key, when most of the guests were checking out. Groom checked out very early. I wonder if they are together or not.

Dd works at a hotel and on her first day there was a wedding where the groom didn't show up !
To make it even worse it was the second attempt(he did the same the first time)

FamiliesShareGerms · 21/09/2014 09:42
