I am desperate to have this pram in my life.
Only thing is I will need to get a normal pram too.

But I want this pram. so. bloody. bad!

It's definately a marmite thing, I think they are awful and always have but each to their own.

I would like to know where novia lives though as apparently getting around is easy as everywhere has to be wheelchair accessable. As a parent of a teenage wheelchair user all I can say to that is 'if only'

Novia · 19/09/2014 23:28

We are from a seaside town in Kent - probably built with coach-built prams in mind.

Bogeyface · 20/09/2014 02:24

Preloved is worth joining. I got a Babyjogger (going for £200+ on ebay) for £40 on there!

Btw, looking at reselling it if anyone is interested!

My Mum saved me our Wilson (same as the Balmoral, think Silver Cross bought them out). I was lucky enough to live in a house with a big enough hallway for it and absolutely loved it although I probably didn't use it out as much as I'd have liked. That's down to laziness taking the car on my part and the big hill on my way home from anywhere. It's really easy to manoeuvre round corners even with one hand, let's face it no buggy is fun taking round shops! They are brilliant for long paved walks with plenty of room for shopping. You can fit on modern buses and aren't any longer than a Phil & teds just taller. I used it a lot to get babies to sleep as they loved the bouncing, then slept outside. When had second baby I got a seat for older child and until she learnt to climb it was a safe place to leave the baby if I dashed upstairs. Everyone talks to you so you do need to be in the mood for others reminiscing!

I agree with the marmite thing- I think they look foolish, maybe it's a SE thing but here ( and I live in a city) people who use big prams stick out like a sore thumb as aspirational, young first time parents. Fathers look particularly stupid and sheepish pushing them around.

Trust me he will be humouring you at best.

Aquilla · 20/09/2014 08:01

Think it's only £5 per year to join Preloved and it's very worth it.

Happypenguin2014 · 20/09/2014 08:27

If you saw how I dress lol I already stick out. I get looks and comments all the time. It'sa very mucch needed confidence boost

sovery I agree. While I love the look of the pram, my main concern was the fact that it was comfy, warm, safe and high up enough so that they avoided the worst of the car fumes etc. When DS was little I had a maclaren and he got brushed with someones cigarette once, his head was the perfect height for a cigarette dangling in a hand.

And the babies were so comfy in the pram too, it was like pushing round a big bed on wheels. Frankly I dont care what people thought I looked like, if looks are the main consideration when buying a pram then you are doing it for the wrong reasons.

Sallystyle · 20/09/2014 13:28

I want a pink one and I don't even have a baby or ever planning to have another one!

Lifesalemon · 20/09/2014 17:55

U2. That is a little bit UR. Grin

LapsedTwentysomething · 20/09/2014 18:01

I have a Silver Cross corduroy pram in airforce blue. It's from the late 70s I think, the one with the curved carrycot rather than the straight edges. It's in great condition apart from a nick in the lining.

DS has never really been into it tbh. You can have it if you like. I think it's nicer than the uber-traditional ones.

Bogeyface · 20/09/2014 19:45

Althought as much as I love proper prams, I think this might be over doing it somewhat!

I know Life Grin

If I had the money and room I would so have one as an ornament in my living room.

OverAndAbove · 20/09/2014 21:12

Honestly? That gold and blue one looks like a coffin on wheels Sad I'm all for people having whatever pram or buggy they fancy but that one gives me the creeps.

TheLovelyBoots · 20/09/2014 21:16

I think they look ridiculous, except in dated pictures of the royal family.

StealthPotato · 20/09/2014 21:42

YABU.

They are chavtastic.

I believe Katie Price wheeled one of her kids around in that pram. 'Nuff said.

icanmakeyouicecream · 20/09/2014 21:49

Chavtastic, I love that word

StealthPotato · 20/09/2014 22:03

Ok, sovery, they look chavvy.

Cheap.

Tacky.

Take your pick...

annoyedofnorwich · 20/09/2014 22:13

I have the same one as posted in some pics up thread. Apart from anything else they are better for a baby's core strength/physical development than most of the modern prams/pushchairs.
