Drove into a space at Sainsburys just as my front tyre bursts. Very friendly people tried to help me but it won't reinflate. Have absolutely no tyre changing skills Blush DD2 screaming and DD1 due to finish nursery...

Panic. Have to leave car there to get home. (No pram of course so carrying giant DD2 who is nicknamed Chunk for a reason!)

Sent lovely stepdad to change the tyre, except wheel nut locked or something like that, so impossible.

AA can't come out for hours, Sainsbury's annoyed at me leaving my car. (Especially parked in coveted P&C!)

Never mind, FIL to the rescue. He will go to sainsburys and try to placate them and get his Greenflag people to come now. Except his ancient micra breaks down on the bloody way!!!!!

AA phones and can come now, except FIL has the key now and is of another age and hasn't fully charged his mobile phone in years days. So he now appears to be uncontactable. Of course.

Sainsburys is currently in the midst of tearing down carpark structures so I absolutely cannot leave my car there all night. Shit. No idea what to do about that...

Doorbell rings, it's absolutely lovely cousin dropping by for a chat. While I'm regaling her with the car saga, my dog steals her shoe. Her very expensive shoe and has literally eaten half of it. Shit.

Apologising profusely, I am interrupted by a scream from DD2, who has fallen over backwards while cruising and has hit her head on the stone hearth of the fireplace. Damn damn damn. A&E?? Except no car...

Luckily lovely cousin is a nurse and thinks she will be fine.

Walk her out to her car, barefoot in solidarity (felt rude to rub it in and say 'let me just get my shoes!') And step on a fucking WASP!!!!

Hobble in tears into the kitchen and sit on the side to look at my foot. It really kills but I get the little stinger out and throw it down the sink.

DD1 is clearly intrigued by my sitting position, tries to climb up on the side and pulls a stool over onto herself.

No car.. (Or car solution!!) Angry friend. Shoe bill. Pissed off Sainsburys customer services. FIL missing presumed lost. Stepdad late for work. Unexpected shoe bill. Egg like bump on DD2. Purple cheek on DD2. Swollen foot.

I need wine.

The day that keeps on giving. Had a house buyers survey today. He walked out into the garden and said 'this is a bit of a mess.' Ds1 was making a den yesterday with 3 bamboo canes and a stick. They were on the lawn. Later he said 'your garden needs some work.' My garden is lovely! What a bloody cheek. I let the replacement of the kitchen and the bathroom slide.
But you win. The wasp really was awful, if I can just pick one thing. Although it did show what a gem your fil is. You are lucky there!

curiousgeorgie · 18/09/2014 00:27

Gordy, you absolutely win! All my stuff is trivial! I hope you're okay Thanks

My day continued in the same vein. Mum picked me up to see ex SIL for a generally shit time. Had a fight with DH, virgin TV fell apart... No wine. Now watching Lost of all things as I have no other options ( which as I'm sure you'll agree, is dire retrospectively!!) and even received a letter from school only authorising 5 of the 10 days of my DD's school absence. She's in Nursery!!!! Wasn't aware that was compulsory Hmm (and we leave next week, soooooooo... We're going!!)

Wipe the wasp sting with vinegar, works like magic. I used vinegar soaked cotton wool to remove sting once too just wiped it and the sting came away and it stopped hurting. The sting is alkaline so acid neutralises it.

Grin Well, you've certainly made me feel better about my day.

I was suppose to get my new washer, but when the delivery guys took it out of the box it had a huge dent in the side. No seriously, how do you dent in a washing machine like a wrecking ball hit it?? It didn't even look like a drop. So they sent it back and have to re-order it.

We have to wait another 4 days and I had to do some emergency laundry in the bath tub. That's never a fun experience.

Also, my baby swing motor died after 5.5 months of constant use and DD is wide awake. I've made my own bed by using a swing to put her to sleep but shouldn't she be at least a little tired?

I don't think anything can beat stepping on a bee though. (except maybe gordy. I'm on the fence here. Wink)
