Surely surely this is NOT one of the brightest ideas?

I'm sure everyone will sober up very quickly when the result is announced.

ArabellaTarantella · 17/09/2014 11:57

Well Scholes - half of them will !!

Has it actually been confirmed that some bars will be staying open all night? I've only heard rumours so far.

Really bad idea if true.

PrettyPictures92 · 17/09/2014 12:06

A bunch of drunken punters all bigged up with alcohol shouting their views on such a highly emotive subject and you just know someone is going to snap at some point... bad bad bad idea! I'm already crapping it at the referendum tomorrow, I still don't know what I'm voting! Changing my mind on an hourly basis now!!

ArabellaTarantella · 17/09/2014 12:08

Definitely looks like it - open all night. First results 2 am - last results 6 am. Should be an interesting night.

Only one pub in Edinburgh- the Radical Road - has a license till 5am. The others (also in Edinburgh) have late extensions till 3am, and will be serving coffee and bacon buns thereafter. I think they'll cope.

EdithWeston · 17/09/2014 12:15

It's not a blanket variation. Individual bars had to apply for a special extension. So only some, and I hope that the licensing authorities gave enough weight to potential public order issues when deciding whether to issue.

Though a few pubs staying open might be only a drop in the ocean, as I should imagine there will be many staying up, at home or in public spaces and I don't expect they'll be teetotal gatherings.

I see no problem at all , why the Special Brew and Bucky charged jocks are known for their love of fellow man , as long as they aren't A. English or B. A Celtic or Rangers supporter depending on your allegiance
