To think the Scottish tourism industry is going to be hugely affected by the referendum, whatever the outcome

Just been reading some of the indyref threads and it made me think about the affect on Scottish tourism, mainly from English tourists,

I know it's only one factor in the grand scheme of things but it seems damned to me whatever the result.

There is such an anti English sentiment at the moment I don't think many English people will be rushing up there for a holiday will they?

I booked our long weekend break to Edinburgh a month or so ago, I honestly didn't think we'd have "problems" due to being English and I still don't think we will either.

Mrsjayy · 19/09/2014 12:53

I its fine glitter a lot of them are far to busy arguing fix and saying some poor wee woman has put yes in the no pile Hmm enjoy your weekend

DaughterDilemma · 19/09/2014 12:53

Well the good news is that the value of the pound against the Euro has gone right up. The bad news is that it means everyone will go abroad for their holidays this year!

Businesses lose, holidaymakers win.

Businesses lose, holidaymakers win.

I'm sure the MNer with the holiday letting business will be overjoyed with that Hmm

You really do have a very strange view on things.

Oh bear no body cares. Dm comments section mighty.

DaughterDilemma · 19/09/2014 14:45

Bear go back and lurk in a cave somewhere. Your name really suits you. Grizzly could also be added.

Bearbehind · 19/09/2014 15:02

If you really believe nobody cares or honestly think it's great that the Euro is strong so everyone will go abroad you are beyond reasoning with.

Both of you have a very warped sense of what is important- Scotland needs it's tourism income from rUK only time will tell if it continues to get it.

OP posts:
DaughterDilemma · 19/09/2014 15:12

Bear there is no such thing as rUK any more, it's just UK.

And euro is weaker than the pound, not stronger. Normally that's a good thing for us. Chin up.

Bearbehind · 19/09/2014 15:17

Blush fuck up on the Euro/ pound, meant to say the pound is strong and rUK was just an abbreviation of the rest of the UK excluding Scotland as well you know.

I admire your resilience though Grin

Happy holidays wherever they may be.

You keep saying only time will tell.

Let's leave it at that then eh?

Because it's rather odd to read someone going on and in about the doom heading our way when you have no way of knowing and no vested interest.

Sleepyfergus · 19/09/2014 18:00

Christ, are you still banging your drum Bear?! FFS....
