To think that if you need blood (in tv and film)

You don't cut the palm of your hand to get it?!

Why would you not just cut your arm? Palm of your hand would be a bugger to heal what with you needing to use it. But for some reason in most tv and film use the palm.

(Sorry, just watching Vampire Diaries S1 and Jeremy has just cut his palm to entice Anna and it just made me wonder!)

Hands/fingers bleed much more heavily than cuts to the arm.

You'd need to do some serious damage to your arm to get the same amount of blood as a small nick on the end of a finger.
