Shepherding the dog inside, carrying shopping - tried to hide my face but I hate that the camera got me coming in my house

Feel like my privacy is invaded

desertmum, oh I see. So your gates are on a public road - but presumably the track to your house is privately owned? They can only go down public roads, but I don't think they're allowed to drive down privately owned roads.

I last looked about a month or two ago and they've updated the aerial view (formerly very useful for showing roofers etc and now completely in shadow so you can see nothing) but left untouched the formerly contemporaneous street view which has the then wild and untrimmed front garden. (I guess the former is just a satellite picture grab and cheap whereas the latter is expensive to redo.)

I don'teven have anything I can legitimately complain to them about either. There's nothing personally revealing on either.

My cat is on google streetview

Aw...Smile

MissBeehiving · 12/09/2014 19:15

My builder mooned at the camera as the van went up our lane. So when people street view my house they get a view of his arse.

Dh is walking across a zebra crossing in our town looking like he's doing an impression of the Beatles.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/09/2014 19:30

Our house is on there but the picture was taken about five years ago and it's got a big 'To Rent' sign outside it. We bought the bloody house four years ago, it's definitely ours.

The end of our road shows our neighbours house with its new windows, and then when you come up into the road it shows the house from about five years ago with its old windows. If you zoom in and out it goes old windows, new windows, old, new, old, new...

Long nights just fly by in our house.

notjustamummythankyou · 12/09/2014 19:46

I'm in two places at once: peeking out from behind curtains in our last house (or was very early in the morning) and either coming or going from our current house. The images must have been taken a good 3 years apart as I was heavily pregnant in the first pic and had a baby and a toddler in the double buggy in the second. Magic!

My parents now deceased dog is on street view. He is just standing there smiling with his tongue hanging out. Makes me laugh every time I see it.

Passmethecrisps · 12/09/2014 19:55

We did! Just after said poochy died. We got it printed for mum and dad.

It got my dad into trouble though as naughty dog had been left to roam free (on a farm).

At least you weren't that very bored looking sex worker tossing off a guy up a back street in Manchester.

Hassled · 12/09/2014 20:02

I wish I'd had the sense to do a screen-grab a couple of years ago - the ancient old witch next door, who was the bane of my life for a decade, was captured coming out of her door to come and moan at me about something. Now she's dead (it turns out that a diet of porridge and Jack Daniels doesn't make you immortal), and I really miss her.

cozietoesie · 12/09/2014 20:04

Darn it - and I thought that diet would work! (Well whisky and porridge.)

You can't go up my part of my street at all, (just our block, the rest is fine) but weirdly you can go INSIDE the garage on the corner.

MrsBasterd · 12/09/2014 20:08

Every time they do our road (current one is last year and two years before that) they always do it on an bin day so theres loads of bins lying around the street making the road look untidy. Pisses me off for some reason.

Last time I was in when the car went past. Ran to the window to press myself against the glass in my nightie and gain internet fame but didn't get there quick enough. Sad

HappyAgainOneDay · 12/09/2014 20:14

I live on a footpath (leads from one road to another) so can see views only of the ends of the footpath. Ooh! There's a small car park at one end so my car is shown but I'm not getting in or out of it.

PickleMobile · 12/09/2014 20:26

Our street views not been updated for over 5 years, the old owners still live there on google!

thegiraffewiththepurplescarf · 12/09/2014 20:34

I've just found my dh on there. His car is not on the drive. Which is strange lol

kinkyfuckery · 12/09/2014 20:43

Glad I read this thread as I hadn't realised the view was dated. I managed to work out where we were living and just happened upon a picture of my, exDH and the DC on the street, much to DCs amusement Grin

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/09/2014 20:44

In the shot of our old house, from the driveway, you can see the loan car from the garage parked on our drive. The one bloody day I have to borrow a car and google come calling. Doesn't look like we lived there at all.

BlueBrightBlue · 12/09/2014 21:03

Mine shows my window boxes boasting geraniums and all manner of gorgeous flowers, shiny brass door furniture and pristine windows.
Also my glam neighbour putting her recycling out, wearing tatty pj's and a turban ( the sort you wear after washing your hair)
The best is my cousin having a crafty fag after she supposedly gave up 20 years ago.
This was 2009

2plus3 · 12/09/2014 21:50

We were caught on holiday two years ago, all five of us. It's only just appeared online though.
