Shepherding the dog inside, carrying shopping - tried to hide my face but I hate that the camera got me coming in my house

Feel like my privacy is invaded

Yes I'm now wondering if there are neighbours on this thread too...

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/09/2014 20:32

Not street view but those aerial photos that they used to come round selling door to door.

I bumped into my next door neighbour (very nice not at all pervy) and the one he'd had done had me sunbathing in a luminous orange bikini.

Luckily I was 19 and looked fantastic. If it happened today he'd definitely send it back!

Sunflowersareblue · 11/09/2014 20:40

Weird beard, I swear blind that is a true story. Honestly, 100% . Not an urban myth friend of a friend. It honestly did happen, in my house, with my house.

MyFairyKing · 11/09/2014 20:42

My dog features in google street view of our old house. I am oddly proud but then I'm sad like that. Grin

MyFairyKing · 11/09/2014 20:44

I've just looked and they've updated it with a new photo! No more fairydog. Sad

BMW6 · 11/09/2014 20:50

Oooh! Just checked our house pic and is recent - May this year - so is now showing new front bay window and front door! Is lovely sunny day and house (and street) look luffly.

Shame we can't look at each others streets! (Am dead nosey me) Smile

our flats used to be summer, summer, summer, random shot of autumn, summer, summer, summer... as you went down the road.

Pipbin · 11/09/2014 22:30

I can't see how that could have happened sunflower.

Pipbin · 11/09/2014 22:35

Blackeye - I have seen one street where there was a pub on the corner. From one street it is derelict - go round the corner and it has been refurbished.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/09/2014 22:42

magic pipbin, magic

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 11/09/2014 22:43

I'm on streetview with the dc, you can see we're about to run into some friends coming in the other direction. I like it!

Sunflowersareblue · 11/09/2014 22:47

Pipbin, I don't know HOW it happened either, but I am telling you it did!

I don't know how google stole millions of people's passwords when they drove down their roads and past their houses either, but they did that, too and were prosecuted for it and were then made to destroy them. They said it was a mistake they stole millions of passwords, yeah, right. So that happening on my tv I don't know how, but I don't think it was a coincidence the google car was going past when I looked out of the window!

ElephantsNeverForgive · 11/09/2014 22:58

DSIL is in several frames of street view, because they went past as she walked down the road to her car.

ouryve · 11/09/2014 23:11

Ours dates from 2009. I was passed, last summer, by a camera car, whilst taking the boys for a walk. DS2 was carrying a turtle bag full of ITNG characters. It clearly wasn't google, though, because it would have been quite a cute little snapshot of our lives.

Selks · 11/09/2014 23:18

Aw, sorry that Fairydog isn't there any more, Myfairyking.

Pipbin · 11/09/2014 23:34

Ah, the Daily Mail, that fountain of truth.

If this did happen Sunflower, how come no one else has mentioned it before? Out of all the streets in the world where the google car has driven down you can't have been the only one watching the TV.

JavaSparrow · 11/09/2014 23:34

Caught me walking in my front door with ds1 on way from Hosp. At the time I was both devastated cos of my size and over the moon they had captured the moment.
Now I'm annoyed I didn't cache or keep the images somehow, cos they have been updated. (London).

Daddypigsgusset · 11/09/2014 23:43

It wouldn't have been hard to do it surely? Their filming streaming on the same frequency as the channel you were watching or something.
I grew up overseas and there was a mosque nearby and the prayer call always interrupted the radio so I cant see how google taking over the tv is any different

8misskitty8 · 11/09/2014 23:46

Haha at meil. My mum and me live in different towns so the bending over woman and the missing house are 2 different places miles apart.

Some of the images on googlemaps have a bit top right were you can see the previous photos that were taken. Our current street ones show the different fences and plants growing over the years at the front of my neighbours house.

ToeFluff · 11/09/2014 23:51

No fair! I just had a look and it's just an empty plot of land Hmm not so bad except it was built 2008 so you would think it would have been updated!

SourSweets · 12/09/2014 02:55

My mum is sunbathing naked in the back garden for the world to see.

Luckily not captured by street view but by the overhead pictures which aren't so... Detailed.

CKDexterHaven · 12/09/2014 03:08

My old neighbour got caught in his garden in his underpants. Eventually they blurred out his entire body but you could still tell he was almost naked.

Jenny70 · 12/09/2014 03:17

I was on Google streetview 3 times - twice on school run in UK and once in Australia before we left! But checking it I am only on once now :(

But good news is the recent one of our house has the 3 children out the front on scooters (all pixelated faces) but our house has a big blurry patch near the front door - my MIL's car is parked at our house, so wondering what she was doing at the door, LOL.
