Having the worst period for years, incredible pain and if I didnt know for sure that I couldnt be PG, I would be wondering if it was another M/C :(

Saw a "friend" who said I looked rough and I explained and said I was taking the to McD's instead of cooking as I just cant stand for any period of time. She was horrified and said "but how long does it take to make a stir fry or cook some pasta?" I said too long at the moment and she implied I am being lazy.

I felt a bit tearful after that, which I know is silly, but AI really BU to chuck junk at them just this once? They have junk once a month (either McD's of KFC - vom) normally and a really good diet the rest of the time. Feel like shit now :(

Nothing to add but Thanks and I hope you feel better very soon.

Your "friend" needs a Big Mac smashed into her hair slap.

Clarabell33 · 11/09/2014 16:08

Sod McDonald's, in your shoes I'd be getting takeaway, refusing to move off the sofa and getting someone else to answer the bloody door when it arrived.

PenisesAreNotPink · 11/09/2014 16:10

She should be ashamed at not inviting them round for tea.

She's not your friend, she's a twat.

furcoatbigknickers · 11/09/2014 16:12

Im sorry to hear thatSad ditch the friend. Of course yanbu

Applelicious · 11/09/2014 16:18

Of course YANBU. You're friend sounds like a pretty crappy friend tbh. I suppose she's the 'always got to go one better' type.

We managed a record 3 McDonalds in one week during the summer holidays this year. Blush

Applelicious · 11/09/2014 16:18

*your, oops.

Stinkle · 11/09/2014 16:19

As others have said, sod McDonalds, they don't deliver!

We're going to McDonalds tonight too, I've got an awkwardly timed hairdressers appointment and can't really be arsed to put any thought or effort into working out the logistics

Stinkle · 11/09/2014 16:22

And as for lazy, well so bloody what?

Even if you were being lazy, there's nothing wrong with that

I never take 'lazy' as the insult it's clearly designed to be Grin

Vitalstatistix · 11/09/2014 16:22

this is probably an admission too far, but at one point, years ago, I went to mcdonalds so often that the staff noticed when I changed my car! Now THAT'S worth a Blush, not once a month! Grin

Flyawaylittlebutterfly · 11/09/2014 16:23

She's an idiot and not someone with an opinion worth caring about. A normal person and good friend would have gone out to get the food for you.

Some people, like this 'friend' are looking for any excuse to judge others so they can imagine themselves superior. Don't let her drag you down.

There's nothing wrong with the occasional McDonald's.

Bogeyface · 11/09/2014 16:25

Thanks all, I think the hormones combined with the meaness just did for me.

I do have to go out anyway so drive thru is no biggie, but Vital you did make me laugh! That is quite an admission, especially on MN!

Bogeyface · 11/09/2014 16:27

When I say "friend" its because she is more than an aquaintance but I am not especially close to her. I know her through someone else, who incidentally would have immediately offered to have the kids round for a few hours and would probably have returned them with a bottle of wine for me! She is a friend :)

ludog · 11/09/2014 16:29

I work in McDonald's, that makes me like a drug dealer reallyHmm

Vintagejazz · 11/09/2014 16:31

I'm all for home cooking as often as possible, but some idiots take it too far. Your 'friend' was being absolutely ridiculous and sounds like one of those annoying 'all or nothing' type people.

Vital I once went to my local off licence for a bottle of wine and the man behind the counter asked me had I been on holidays Blush Blush

Vitalstatistix · 11/09/2014 16:34
Grin
madamemuddle · 11/09/2014 16:36

If it's no bother she would have offered to help, wouldn't she?

Just ignore. Quite fancy a McDonald's myself now... Grin

WitchWay · 11/09/2014 16:36

We're not keen on McDs ok DH is so I'd never provide it for an evening meal but I think the principle is absolutely fine if you're not up to cooking.

Chinese takeaway is my default "I can't cook tonight" meal like last night for example

PinkAndBlueBedtimeBears · 11/09/2014 16:51

A real friend would have offered to cook a dinner for you all and drop it round later.. Do tell her when your feeling better how much her comment hurt, it was plain nasty tbh :(

MrsCurrent · 11/09/2014 16:56

If you were my friend I'd have got it for you along with wine and chocolate. Sounds a right stupid cow.

SauvignonBlanche · 11/09/2014 17:03

Some 'friend'! A drive thru sounds ideal.

Mrsjayy · 11/09/2014 17:04

What a bloody cow im pmsy and I could kill for a big mac I hope they enjoy every chicken nugget Grin , how long does it take to make pasta tut seriously fuck off . Hope you feel better soon

Mrsjayy · 11/09/2014 17:09

Chinese is my defaullast time the woman on the phone said oh its you never mind the address I recognised your voice Blush

waithorse · 11/09/2014 17:12

MrsTerry can you really get cheese toasties as part of the happy meal ??

Op YANBU. Your friend is ridiculous. Thanks Wine

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/09/2014 17:27

You can in Canada. DD was very put out that there weren't two. That child can EAT.

When I was a student we used to alternate offies so we didn't look too bad. The lady in one pointedly asked us once if it was exam time and whether we should be there. Blush Happy days. From what I remember...

I was so smug about McDs. Then DD saw my key-chain Starbucks card and said, "Starbucks!" loudly. My go-to lazy place.

whathaveiforgottentoday · 11/09/2014 17:34

Yanbu, Macdonalds is just what you need when you feel crap. Once a month isn't going to do any harm. We hardly ever eat junk food (halo polished) and DH think Macdonalds is the work of the devil however I think in your situation a Maccy d's is perfect.
