Re manky, mouldy tupperware boxes?!

Just found a foul one in DD's gym bag. (Luckily she'd eaten all the pasta salad that had been in it originally but the left behind smudges of mayo had gone mouldy. It's been in her bag for a week!)
I've scrubbed it clean with washing up liquid and hot water and gave it a rinse with boiling water from the kettle for good measure.
AIBU to stick it back in the cupboard and use it again or should it be binned as a health hazard?

Dishwasher. My DD once left one of these in her bag for about a month, it was grim!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/09/2014 21:19

Dishwasher it then back in circulation.

Dishwasher, cupboard, use, repeat. It'll outlast all of us. Grin

Don't you ask for it at the end of the day? Or in the morning when it's time to fill it again? I don't know how old your DD is though so, if she's 15, she ought to do it herself.

Bin it please Smile

Use some diluted bleach to kill all mould spores. Then I would use boiling water again.

I soak manky tupperware in milton. Brings it up lovely, and also gets rid of any tomato staining

Ds did this too. (No I didn't ask - he's 12 and I expected him to hand it over).

Wash - hot water. baby bottle sterilising fluid. rinse. dry. Then back into circulation for school lunches in year 8.
