To think it wouldn't kill dsis to drop the car seat off to me

Yesterday I texted dsis while she was at work to ask if she could drop ds car seat off to me after work . she said no to take the one out my parents car instead .

I agreed that made sense but when I was leaving dps yesterday I forgot to take it . Dh is away to work and so it my dad so the only car seat I have left (to out in my friends car we are going a day out) is dsis .

I live less than a 5 min drive and she won't drop it off to me meaning I can't make the appointment I have at 1pm . It would take me about 35-40 mins to walk to their house to pick it up .

I know I know she's not obligated to drop his seat off and it was my own fault for forgetting to bring the car seat last night , but a wee but if common courtesy jumping up for 2 mins with the seat , when she's not doing anything .

If she doesn't I could walk down for it and still go out my friend could pick me up there , but id miss my appointment . Sad

When did you realise you had forgotten the car seat at your parents? Couldn't you have left to go to d-sis earlier?

Why don't you get a taxi to your sister's?

olaflikeswarmhugs · 08/09/2014 11:45

I didn't realise in time I've did this before needed the car seat and just walked down for it but because I have this appointment today I don't have time to walk so I asked her to come up with it .

I wouldn't have a car seat for the taxi either .

Your ok to legally travel in a taxi without a car seat , I would think the risk of a 5 minute journey would be very minimal.

Could you ask your friend to pop in and pick the seat up on their way to you?

It would have been nice if your sister could have dropped it over, but not worth making a fuss about it.

Subhuman · 08/09/2014 11:50

The law says you don't need a car seat for a taxi.

almamatters · 08/09/2014 11:57

Why would a less than 5 minute car journey take 35/40mins to walk?!

olaflikeswarmhugs · 08/09/2014 11:58

Alma I would be walking with a pram and the slowest 9yo on the planet Grin

If it is only 5 mins away surely your friend could pop in and pick it up? Not really your sisters fault or problem so I think you need to sort it out for yourself.

Pinkje · 08/09/2014 12:08

Is the seat for your 9 year old? Is he too small to do without?

ikeaismylocal · 08/09/2014 12:08

You could actually order a taxi to pick the seat up and drop it off at yours.

MintyChops · 08/09/2014 12:11

Like ikea's suggestion, get the taxi to collect the seat and bring to you. Agree it's not your sister's fault or responsibility but seems a bit mean of her, getting the taxi to do it might make her realise how desperate you are to get it.

The seat is for my 22mo . It's ok she's just texted and said she will do it don't know what's changed her mind . C
