AIBU to think the word for the flowers icon should be changed?

It is currently thanks within brackets.

Nobody uses it like that though. Every single post I have seen using/used myself the Thanks icon is to offer sympathy. Surely it should be "sorry" or something similar?

It's a very minor thing but I'm sure thanks/sorry was an option for that particular icon when I first joined a couple of years ago.

You can also use the word "flowers" in the square brackets.

Goldiefawn · 07/09/2014 22:01

It would make sense just to be 'flowers' surely?

echt · 07/09/2014 22:01

If you look down, it also appears as flowers, too.

CuttedUpPear · 07/09/2014 22:03

Yes I agree.
Put this in Site Stuff to get attention from MNHQ though.
AIBU is ridiculously overused for non AIBUs.

TeaAndALemonTart · 07/09/2014 22:05

I think thanks is the wrong word too.

Alisvolatpropiis · 07/09/2014 22:06

Thanks Cutted, didn't realised that was a better spot to post in.

I only ever is MN on my phone obsessed and thanks is the only option which comes up. If flowers works too I'll use that instead.

Thanks all

I use the word flowers...never thanks...and I always use it to say thank you not sorry or in sympathy. YABU

I only ever use MN on my phone...

I've never noticed you could use 'flowers' too - glad that this has been pointed out as I agree 'thanks' usually seemed quite wrong. I'll use flowers from now on.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/09/2014 22:13

I have used the flowers for congratulations and happy birthday, so it's not just used as a thanks or sympathy. I use the flowers in square brackets option.
