to expect sheets in an upmarket holiday house to be hole-free

Returned recently from a 4* holiday rental- rates are almost £900 for the week- and the sheet on the master bed had a hole in it ( near the feet end) about the size of a 5p piece.
There was also a visible ( though small) old stain ( blood I think) under the sheet on the mattress cover.

I wouldn't use bedding like this at home for guests- even family coming to stay- so it is reasonable for me to now ping an email off and complain to the company? (They specialise in houses in one town only- all marketed as 'luxury' and have a portfolio of around 20 houses.)

Euwwww to the stain and the hole is not on either.

Neither is in any way luxurious. Definitely complain.

You are wanting to complain about a really small hole on a bed sheet and a small old stain on a mattress cover.

If you are really petty enough to want to complain about those two 'issues' then go for it.

Petty? Holes in sheets and an old blood stain? I'd not offer that level of bedding to my family if they came to stay.

IMO whoever made up the bed should have not used that sheet and any mattress covers with blood stains ought to be binned- not re-used.

Then if that's what you feel, complain. You asked for opinions about sending an email.....I think it is petty, you don't so why post here for opinions if you seem to have already made your mind up?

I would have just went to the nearest supermarket and picked up a sheet. Tesco is around £8.

Could not cope with holes in sheets.

you can if you want but i dont think 900 for a week at high peak time is particularly upper end either. That isnt to say its not a lot of money.

YABU, why were you inspecting the bed so thoroughly? Whoever made the bed probably didn't even notice the tiny hole.
