We have a Morphy Richards heated underblanket. I bought it a few years ago as it ticked all the boxes. It was fitted ,washable ,dual control with very thin wires .Perfect in every way.

Obviously as its an electric blanket its not used daily ,so although its a few years old its not been over used. The switch on one side broke so I have been trying to find a replacement on the internet. I couldnt locate one so contacted MR customer services ( I know, should have gone there first). I received a reply back

We regret to inform you that the part you request is not manufactured as a separate component as this is now obsolete and we no longer offer a repair service facility.

So AIBU to expect a good brand name to have spares beyond a few years so I dont have to put an otherwise perfectly good item into landfill?

And before the pros and cons of heated blankets come out I need to say I have a medical condition that makes me feel the cold a lot and I cant sleep if Im too cold.

It's broken. It's not made anymore. YABU.

It may be that they dont make it anymore because so many broke that they have already run through the supply of spares. Yours may have lasted longer than most.
