To adopt a simple dating strategy

Widowed 2 years ago - have recently started online dating - a hit and miss experience to say the least. I am wondering if I should forget photos and online chat and just ask to see the list of books on their Kindle - would give me a much better snap shot of our compatibility I think ? Note I don't expect them to have exactly the same reading list as me but you do get a good image of the way people think and what they are really interested in from the books they read.

Open to other strange dating strategy suggestion ;)

My only real dealbreaker/maker when I was Internet dating was that they had to read for pleasure. My DP loves to read, and loves the fact that I love to read, but we have very different tastes, with hardly any overlap. I don't think YABU to want someone with the same tastes in literature as you but I think you might have to look for a long time!

Have actually had loads of dates - just very few satisfactory ones ;) I think my looks blonde and busty are at odds with my personality to a degree
