WIBU to wear a top with the security tag still on?

But bloody hell. Picked up a nice top today, thought I'll wear that tonight.

Just gone to put it on, it's still got the flaming security tag on.

FFS.

Any good tips for getting it off please? I swear I paid for it but spent more on lots of nice wine for the party

Agh annoying! Be careful it's not one of the tags that has ink inside that splodges all over you if you try and tug it off...if it's on the back you could wear a cardi?

You need a strong magnet (not a shoplifter i swear.)

It's only a small tag so I don't think it has ink in. I've been trying to pry it off with a metal nail file.

It's right on the hem so can't cover it up with a cardi. Balls.

I have no magnets!!! Or elastic bands. Already looked on Youtube. The bugger just won't come off.

Claw hammer & a flat head screwdriver (not a shoplifter - tried it once out of desperation!).

You put the 'claws' round either side of the pin bit & lever upwards, put screwdriver between the tag & the hammer & lever downwards, pulling the pieces apart.

My mum brought round an item for my baby the other day. I noticed it was still tagged so she took it back and when she asked why it didn't set any alarms off they said "because we don't have any"

Would you believe it, the claw hammer was missing one claw (how the eff can you break a hammer?)

But it's off. It's left a little hole but I don't think it's too visible. Thanks everyone

I've had this a few times where they forgot to take the tag off. When I've taken it back to the shop I've gone straight to security by the door and explained and told it happens all the time.

I'm not surprised so much get stolen as I've heard the alarms go off loads of times but its rare that any staff check to find out why unless there's someone at the door.
