To ask about breast lumps?

Ds3 is 16 weeks old, i finished breastfeeding at about 10 weeks. When i squeeze my breast i still get a drop of milk though.

I found a lump a couple of days ago. its about 3cm x 2cm, sausage shaped and is movable. I went to GP and before she even examined me said she sends all lumps to breast clinic. she felt it and said it might be a blocked duct but she didnt seem to know much to be honest! she wasnt my normal gp. She has referred me on but since i was there i have found two more smaller ones in different areas of the same breast. im terrified but hoping the fact that i have two more makes it mroe likely that its to do with breastfeeding.

Has anyone any experience?

Hi, please don't worry, it's a good thing that your GP has referred you to rule anything nasty out.
I have had breast cancer. When I had my 1st year's all clear check up 10 months ago, they found more lumps & I went back for more tests. It is so worrying.
Anyway, all the tests were fine & it turned out to be duct ectasia. A few antibiotics & I was fine, phew!
Duct ectasia is really common, apparently.
For more information, look at the breast cancer care website. They have loads of pdf downloads, a discussion forum & a helpline.
Try not to worry, most lumps are nothing.
So, don't worry. ThanksFlowers

It's very worrying but blocked ducts are common, easily-diagnosed with a scan (ultrasound on your boobs, basically) and in some hospitals the sonographer can insert a needle (non-painful I promise) and remove the trapped milk there and then.

The first couple of times I had them they went away by themselves. The third time I had the needle in and it was all very quick and I felt reassured it wasn't anything else. The sonographer/doctor was quick to reassure me as soon as she could see it was fine.

Thanks Frances, sorry to hear you had cancer but glad to hear your doing well :) Ill look that up now.

Normhonal, Would it be common to have a blocked duct so long after breastfeeding??? (6 weeks after)

Try not to think about it too much if you can help it. I had a cyst form right out of the blue, lumps and bumps can appear at any time for a number of reasons.
Well done for getting yourself checked out though.
