to think the new MN interface is dire on a phone screen?

I'm seeing a huge banner across every page and the O2 one is the least intrusive. The bloody sauerkraut one is ridiculous. Posts aren't highlighted. I have to scroll for ages to move down the page as everything is unnecessarily huge. I know everyone moans when an interface changes but this is just clumsy.

Feels distinctly lowbrow.

Grr.

I can see changes on the internet but not the mobile app.

Re the net- I like the accessibility of the search button and I don't mind the colour.

It is easier to see the list of subject areas.

But the actual threads are awful.

It's as though the headings and subheadings are thought through, and the content just chucked in at the last minute.

It's the mobile site, not the app. I hate the app and preferred to use the mobile website, but now I hate the mobile website too. I could get used to the change in interface, but the new layout is really difficult to navigate and I'm not sure if I can be arsed. Will try to figure out how to change to the desktop site, but failing that, I think I'm out. I've really enjoyed MN over the years, but I can't use it like this. Sad

Likewise changed to desktop site. Much happier now, my highlights are back. Not at all ideal though.

I still can't use the desktop site, it makes my phone crash every time (and this isn't an old phone). Any response from HQ yet?

Iv clucked on customise ops posts but it still inly highlights ops first post. Iv had to go through to customise through the faqs also as mymumsnet doesnt work either.

Right, I've turned off the blue shortcuts bar on the bottom. Much better.
To get on a thread you're on, as other posters have said, you can't jump in at your last post and have to scroll down. Takes time. Also miss seeing any new updates on a thread you're on.
Still too bright and glaring though. Hurts my eyes.

Going on the desktop site hurts my eyes even more- so what to do?

Looking on the brightside, I might get more done now instead of loosing hours on MN. Will miss it though.

Blush lapsed I can't remember, sorry. Just pressed buttons trying to find my way around and couldn't find it again to post instructions.

Have gone back to desktop even though I have to squint on my tiny phone screen.
Tis easier to check on posts to threads I'm on.

Have given up on mobile and switched to desktop. Not as good as old mobile, but far better than the new version

if you look on sitestuff MN says it has not changed so those seeing weird stuff have highlighted a glitch, they are getting tech to look at it.

Threads I'm watching doesn't seem to be working as it did..it goes right back to the beginning rather than the last point that was reset. Or is that me missing something obvious about how to use it?

hi everyone sorry i cant see if we've had a response from mnhq? it looks like not? ive tried to download the app (at much inconvenience and password re-setting i must say) as i thought i saw a user say it was much the same as the old layout, but there is absolutely nothing in it. what on earth is going on?

i have to say im really pissed off about this. its very easy to see all the blinking (literally) adverts but i cant even use the site. it feels like quite an insulty to mumsnet users to be honest, and I dont like to get too heated about this sort of thing!

sorry for continuous posts. I'm just going to use the desktop site on my mobile which is not great as it really does my head in but at last no flashing adverts and minimum functionality. Really not impressed with either the change or how information has not been forthcoming, I must say. I'd be really sad if this put decent posters from contributing. but if all the twats can't work it out that would be a bonus Grin

I'm not normally bothered by changes like this but it's giving me a headache and, I know this sounds a bit mad, but I feel a bit sick trying to read threads. Is there a way to revert back to old view? Desktop no good on my phone.

I thought it had a glitch and had reverted to a super basic and super crappy version. ..apparently not

it is absolutely awful...I can only presume someone has majorly fucked off Tech and this is payback because no one would sign off on this surely!
