To think I'm not too old

To retrain as a nurse. I'm 36 so I would be around 40 when I finish training and would have 20 odd years of working ahead of me.

I'm so sick of doing minimum wage jobs that I hate and mean nothing.

Am I too old to consider this?

My hairdresser is 42 and she's retraining. She loves it but I'm devastated!

But, and this is very general, have you done relevant work experience - is it definitely what you want?

My profession is one that gets a lot of mature entrants though and they mostly seem happy with this.
