To not have got around to half the things I intended to do during the Summer hols

I am back at work next week after nearly five weeks off and still haven't contacted half the friends I meant to, hosted one dinner party, started a novel, cleaned out all my presses or done any of the many worthwhile things I was going to do 'once I had a bit of time'.

AIBU to have frittered away the weeks enjoying unstructured days and a couple of short breaks to the country with extended family?

Yanbu I have not done anything either. Not even any short breaks. I think I have taken pottering around to a new level!

owlscatsandcakes · 18/08/2014 10:00

Yanbu; I am the same

chosenone · 18/08/2014 10:01

Yanbu

amyhamster · 18/08/2014 10:01

As long as you had a nice time & feel rested who cares?!

YouTheCat · 18/08/2014 10:46

I have unintentionally frittered the holidays too.

I was going to decorate but am waiting for the council to put a new roof on - since May. Then a kidney infection ate up 2 weeks.

I have 2 weeks left. I was going to get so much done. Oh well. Grin

I am completely at the end of my rope with the holidays this year. Meant to declutter the house, get down to some writing and see various friends I have neglected. It hasnt happened.

Have done loads with the kids, but its been 4 weeks now and am skint and fed up with being Mary Poppins every bloody day!

I was going to do a lot of househunting as I want to move. I have looked at two apartments Blush.

I just tell myself that August is a slow month on the housing market and there will be lots of stuff to look at in Sept.

Me too! No doubt il will spend the last weekend of the hols frantically cleaning and sorting Blush

Dwerf · 18/08/2014 10:51

And me, though that's partly due to no money. I started a new job last week, but since it's only a four hour contract and I've only done four hours so far, I am now actually paying to work. siiiigh.

The kids have been swimming every week though.

YANBU. I'm a teacher, I have done most of the school stuff I need to but the house stuff - not so much.

Studyingmummy · 18/08/2014 11:15

Me too Smile I am a student & was on full time placement for 1st 3 weeks of school hols & then off till mid Sept. Kids back at school today Grin & I have done none of the things I wanted e.g gutting the house, getting some ideas for my dissertation , starting an exercise regime , get the ironing pile under control, some revision for my course etc.

Today, I intend to start looking for a topic for my dissertation Hmm Have messed around for almost 2 hours on FB uploading pics of 1st day back & ohing & ahing at all the cute shiny kids in their new uniforms. So unmotivated!

Have had a lovely summer enjoying time with my kids, a few days out , paddling pool ( when the weather was nicer !!), commonwealth games & just chilling. Keep telling myself not to feel guilty as In graduate in June so this may be our last carefree summer together!

Well I've arranged to meet a long neglected friend for lunch tomorrow and am now going to call into my mum and persuade her to come for a walk down the pier. Smile
