DHs Granny is in the latter stages of dementia. She has a bed in the lounge and she has live in carers, as well as other carers from an agency. The agency also provide someone to cover a live in carer if needs be.

Yesterday I was there trying to sort out the TV and went upstairs. The carers came when I was there and the granny was put on the commode. I then heard: 'f*cking hell, that stinks, I'm going to put that out" and the other carers laughing and agreeing.

I don't know if she was aware or not but I was so angry and upset on her behalf - WIBU to complain to the agencies about these carers? Have already told MIL.

Definitely complain. I'm a carer and it's very sad that not only is it all too easy for the wrong people to get into these jobs but it can also be really hard to get rid of them. Care work is understaffed with high staff turnover, even when the carers are bad the agency will very often keep them. But every client has the absolute right to say who can and can't enter their house, if you have carers come into your DH's granny's house who are rude and disrespectful towards her then you can refuse to allow them back (but be prepared to monitor and continue to complain about it as necessary - they may try to keep sending them anyway - a lot of care agencies are crap!)
