He now asleep on sofa.

I refer you to your nn...

I've been stroking/waking big boy cat up all morning - he is now snuggled into my side so I don't think he's too distressed by it

Poledra · 11/08/2014 14:01

Go on go on go on!

googoodolly · 11/08/2014 14:07

I regularly poke mine because my laptop keyboard is apparently a very comfortable cat bed.

He is currently sat purring on my feet and his sister is snuggled into my shoulder, so I don't think they're too damaged!

You may have to offer dreamies though...

WellnowImFucked · 11/08/2014 14:17

I did it!

I survived…

I got a Meep! And a pissed off look.

I bet he'll get me back later

You need to follow up with the tickling/seizing of a rear paw.

SquirrelledAway · 11/08/2014 14:48

You know you're going to pay for that, right?

Probably at about 2am tomorrow morning.

EatDessertFirst · 11/08/2014 14:49

YABU. But the stare you should get from poking a sleeping cat will tell you how unreasonable and worthless you are Wink.

I think I have two threads about OldDessertCat. He always looks like he is plotting world domination. I don't dare move or even breathe in his general direction when he is comfy.

CarmineRose1978 · 11/08/2014 14:53

I poke mine whenever I want some affection. They go "Meep!" too or "Brrrp!", then roll over for tummy tickles. Then I kiss their snuggly fluffy bellies. Mmmm, fuzz therapy!

GemmaTeller · 11/08/2014 14:54

I do it - only because fat old cat is 18 and I'm just checking she's still with us.

Fruityb · 11/08/2014 14:58

I always do it to my cat. I think meep describes the noise he makes perfectly and that's why I do it! I think the noise he makes is funny. As he's got older he makes all sorts of noises when he's asleep!

WellnowImFucked · 11/08/2014 15:45

We've called a truce.

And gone for a nap to celebrate.
He's currently spooning my foot.

I'm going to wake up in the feline version of Misery…

So jealous. I miss my cat :(

Yanbu. Tit for tat!

Can I come and poke all your cats? My cat is very ill - back at the vets tomorrow and depending on results of scan, we might have to make "that" decision Sad - and so I'm deliberately leaving her to sleep as much as she needs to, so I have cat-poking withdrawal symptoms.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 11/08/2014 17:32

we got a kitten at Christmas and he chirrups and brrrrps. it's the cutest thing - it's like he's talking to you {saddo}

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 11/08/2014 17:32

sorry to hear that Sign Sad

HairOnMyChinnyChinChin · 11/08/2014 17:43

Ds did this to a random ginger on Saturday, the steely glare was hilarious.

I often wake my neighbours cat as he kips with his paws dangling over the side of the wall and it's too much to resist getting revenge for the furry bastard catterwauling at 3am

BigChocFrenzy · 11/08/2014 17:53

Know your place, tin-opener ! Angry

To poke a sleeping cat
Anarchy99 · 11/08/2014 17:59

I hope it was worth it - he is only snuggling with you so he can lull you into a false sense of security while he plots revenge! you know he is going to wake you up every 15 mins tonight now... Grin

SignYourName · 11/08/2014 18:03

Thank you Shake

silveroldie2 · 11/08/2014 19:35

Wow you're really brave. I hate to think what his payback will be. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon....

InanimateCarbonRod · 11/08/2014 19:37

Carmine I was looking for the like button for youur post. Love fuzzy kitty bellies!

Andrewofgg · 11/08/2014 20:55

BigChocFrenzy You have hit the nail on the head. Cats are waiting until some foolish or disloyal human invents a tin of tuna which they can open with their paws after which we are history.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/08/2014 21:01

Oh, don't prod them off your keyboard! Look at that little face.
