What do I do? Really? I have a real chance, one on one with someone on my laminate list. Do I seek an intimate moment with him, or more probably, try and look cool and aloof? DH says, "Go for it!" Hmm

OP posts:

When I was young I met someone who was, at that time, on my laminated list

He was a twonk and didn't give me a second look

Most disappointing

I hope yours is more exciting and eventful

I say go for it. The list is law, so it's fine :)

hellymelly · 10/08/2014 13:24

I don't know what a laminate list is- is it someone your other half has agreed you can shag if you get the chance?

squoosh · 10/08/2014 13:37

I was trying to think who I'd put on my list and then realised I'm single.............all hot men that take my fancy are on my list.

scottishmummy if the thread isn't interesting enough for you then you know what to do.

squoosh · 10/08/2014 13:51

catgirl I'm operating a ticket system, similar to the one at Argos.

RumPunch · 10/08/2014 17:28

Go for it. But don't do what I did and completely lose your shit and make strange noises at them.

MassaAttack · 10/08/2014 18:06

Arf at strange noises Grin

Putting my sensible face on and imagining that you might actually attempt a one night stand with this person, op, just don't. truffle is completely right - you'd be an utter twat to sacrifice both your career and your marriage for a shag up against a wall.

BolshierAyraStark · 10/08/2014 18:09

Couldn't possibly advise without knowing who it is...

Don't suppose his wife will be as keen as your DH though, unless of course you're on his list.

OnIlkelyMoorBahtat · 10/08/2014 18:55

Hand on heart I'd have to say.... MEET HIM! (Or her!)

And for heaven's sake OP, please please give us a tiny clue who it is...

And of course if you do meet them, you must come back and tell us all about it...

PasswordProtected · 10/08/2014 20:08

What the devil is a laminate list & while we are at it, what us a bucket list?

olivespickledonions · 10/08/2014 20:49

I need more information about this impending laminate listee moment.
On the twitter has there been flirting? Imagined flirting? Wishful thinking? Is there a possibility of something untoward/frisky actually happening, or have I missed something?
Need. More. Information.

Sallystyle · 10/08/2014 21:15

No. I don't have a list but my husband wouldn't let me cheat with someone if I did have a list and I did get to meet him.

Same goes for him. We can hypothetically pretend we would shag someone on our list but if he did he would no longer be my husband.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 10/08/2014 21:18

I'm guessing it's Brian the Yoni Massage man from Hull, or the Skellow Human towel rack?

Am I correct?

BosomBunnies · 10/08/2014 22:02

Don't think anyone has answered about what the laminate list is - but my understanding is:

It comes from an episode of Friends, where they're all talking about which famous people they'd have on their list of top 5 famous people that they're free to sleep with (even if in a relationship).

They're allowed to sleep with them and their partner can't be mad about it - 'cos they're on 'the list'. Ross takes it all very seriously and takes loads of time contemplating who to put on his list - and Chandler convinces Ross to 'bump' Isabella Rosselini off his list in favour of Winona Ryder (as she's local, and Isabella Rosselini is international)!

Then Rosselini just happens to turn up in Central Perk (coffee house) one day and so Rachel allows Ross to go for it with Rosselini anyway. Obviously she isn't interested as he seems really goofy!!

Longest explanation ever, sorry!

Lweji · 10/08/2014 22:14

Obviously she isn't interested as he seems really goofy!!

There was a shorter explanation earlier on. Ahem...

In any case, she rejected him because he told her he had just bumped her off his list but had been allowed anyway, so she bumped him for another goofy guy.

NettleTea · 10/08/2014 22:23

My DP paid for me to have a 'meet and greet' with my no1 laminate lister.

I think he was fairly confident that I wasnt on his list, and not being the young nubile thing that I was when he went on the list it was a pretty safe bet all round.

And like a PP I turned to a mound of wet jelly and could barely squeeze a word out......

Judgypants73 · 10/08/2014 22:52

What a load of crap.

poguemahon · 10/08/2014 22:55

Surely you'll just re-enact that scene from friends where you explain you can't go through with it for whatever reason and the famous person will cut you down to size and basically say they wouldn't look twice at some random sad-act civilian with a MN account?

Trills · 10/08/2014 23:00

Mumsnet accounts don't make people less attractive, how very dare you?!

Lweji · 10/08/2014 23:13

Don't do
