See I know people say that you shouldn't but if my cat shows her tummy she does want it tickled. If you don't she sort of angles her tummy at you more and meows. Then you rub it until a changeable and arbitrary amount of time is up then she clamps your hand in her bear trap of pain and tears and mauls you.

My Siamese likes his tummy tickled. He's always flashing it about. If you don't do it he says "MEOW!" very sharply.

If PicklePig does it I take it as an invitation to blow raspberries on the proffered soft furry stomach. He's an idiot & doesn't seem to mind. My last cat would've eviscerated you via your had if you'd had even thought about touching that lovely soft furry belly.

one of our current cats is the only cat I have known that actually likes having her tummy rubbed. Every other cat we've had/known - lucky to come away with your skin still attached to your hand!

We have one cat that will let you tummy tickle for about 5 seconds and then tries to tear your hand off and another that will let you do absolutely anything you want. DS (3yo) picks him up round his waist, drags him over to the sofa, rests him on his lap and tickles his belly while the cat just relaxes and lets him. They were both rescues and were really skittish when we first got them but they gradually got used to the fuss.

Boy Cat loves his tummy rubbed BUT only by me. . .so honored!

OH is allowed for a length of time to only be reveled when he bites him.

However Boy Cat also loves it when you cover his face, odd bod.

Girl Cat only likes her chin and just the base of her spine, but not the tail rubbed, and deviation results in very loud sulking and a bum stuck in your face. . . .

I read that back and realise that although I say to people . . . Oh I do love them but they're animals and I treat them like that. . .I'm actually a big fat liar who is here to do their bidding.

Must go now GC wants me to open the door so she can ponder whether to go out or not. I know shes not (its drizzling), she knows shes not, but that's not the point. I haven't done her bidding/paid attention to her for at least 10 minutes.

Both my cats do this. One will let you touch her tummy in certain places and only until she's had enough. Once she's decided you have had enough time she grabs your hand with her paws and bites.

My other cat would go for you as soon as you made contact on his tummy. But he does look cute when he does it. Occasionally when he is sleeping stretched out im tempted to touch his tummy as it looks so soft!

My lovely cat lays on his back and shows me his tummy, but only likes to be tickled under the chin
He is also abit thick as when I go out at bedtime to call him, instead of running away he falls straight onto his back with legs akimbo so I can then pick him up and carry him to bed
